                                              1968 Volvo 122S Overdrive in Excellent Condition with MOT to Sept 30th 2022This very smart Volvo Amazon 122S was originally supplied new in early 1968 to a doctor at The Andrew Fleming Hospital in Salisbury, Rhodesia and it subsequently spent its first 20 years in the warm, dry, Southern African sunshine. In 1986 the Volvo was imported into the UK, when the doctor moved with his family to the UK.All panels are original and rust free. There is no evidence of welding, due probably to the dry Rhodesian weather for the first 20 years. The paintwork has been redone at some point over the last 20 years in the original (Volvo paint code 97) and is very good and unblemished. The dashtop had originally suffered in the African sunshine and had cracked, so has recently been replaced. The tan interior is excellent and the drivers seat shows little signs of wear. Mechanically the Amazon runs well. with the engine and gearbox quiet and the overdrive working as it should. The clutch, clutch master and slave cylinders, rear brake shoes and front callipers have recently been replaced.The front and rear bumpers are original and could ideally do with re-chroming, but the rest of the brightwork is excellent.Complete with V5, the original drivers handbook and a new MOT running to September 30th 2022.Delivery can be arranged throughout mainland UK. and further hi res images on request.
