Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.5) based on 469 votes

You are bidding on a 1935 Morris Eight tourer. The car has been extensively rebuilt and includes refurbished brakes. rebuilt radiator with new core and a new old stock petrol tank. The car is fitted with completely rebuilt and much sought after “Hartford” shock absorbers. The body has been completely rebuilt upon a new ash frame. The doors have been dismantled and completely rebuilt and the rear section of the car has been re skinned in new sheet metal. The fenders have undergone extensive repair. The running boards are new. The car is completely rust free and stands in red oxide primer upon a gloss black chassis. awaiting final fit and paint. This tourer comes complete with its hood frame and side screens. The frame does need re-covering and the side screen windows would benefit from a thorough cleaning but the top is complete with all its parts. The windscreen frame needs glazing but the chrome is excellent. The car comes with its bumpers and all its latches and brightwork. The headlamps have been refurbished and include Lucas 7” lenses and reflectors with wiring for 12V lamps. The dash panel has been refurbished. The car comes with an ex MOD “tank” engine which is still in its military green paint and retains some wax paper covering from storage. The engine is brand new. I have all parts from the original engine to de militarise this and the cars original engine block crank pistons etc. The original engine was removed as it had been frost damaged. A series E four speed gearbox is also included with this car and also a new old stock clutch plate. The only things missing from the car are the two front seats which sadly were beyond repair. These are generic and easy to replace. The car retains its original registration number which is three letters and two numbers. This obviously has a value but I would prefer it to stay with the car. The car was known to me before I undertook the restoration work and I can account for approximately the last 50 years of its history. I am selling this car very reluctantly as I quite simply have too many projects in progress and need to make some space and time. Whoever wins this auction will find that the work already done on this car is extensive and to a high standard. Someone is going to get a very easy to finish restoration of this Morris Eight. If you have never driven one. you should. They are years ahead of their time and easily cope with modern traffic. Happy bidding. Winning bidder to deposit £200 by paypal. Balance payable in cash upon collection. Car will obviously need trailering. You are welcome to view. Any enquiries. feel free to call me on 07770 475213

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Nicholas Mayne, dated 09 september 2018
Vincent, some questions please:
1. Who built the Ash Frame
2. What is the condition of the chassis
3. What finish was applied to inside of the panels that cannot now be accessed
4. Have you run the military engine
5. Is this the same as my 1936 2-seat series 1 tourer?
I am enquiring because we wanted to rebuild our old 1936 Morris 8 2 seat tourer but have found the chassis, ash frame and panels in a very sorry state.
Thanks, Nick Mobile tel .079 156 15207
