Formula ford Lola 644e hewland mk 9 gearbox classic race car. The last one built for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 403 votes
This I a unique opportunity to buy the very last Lola Formula ford EVER built. It is documented as the very highest chassis number for a 644e which was the last formula ford that Lola built and was delivered in 1985 to the Cadwell Park race team Touraco. run by Graham Glew. I have pictures of the car from the mid 1980's and I will post them when I can rmember where I put them. The car has a very good Hewland Mk 9 gearbox and we all know that these are fetching high prices. It also has a v/good ff spec engine. The car was purchased as a running project for hillclimb /sprints but I now realise that I will not get time to do what I initially wanted to do. I simply do not have the time as I have purchased another car which is currently being rebuilt . I did contemplate breaking the car as I know I would make more by doing that but I just can not do it to such an important car. It will need work to get it back on the track but well worth it and it is a very competitive car as this model won the festival in 1984. Call 07747762921 for details and come and view. I have never raced the car so inspection is advised. It has had side radiators fitted which I was going to replace with the original front one. unique opportunity. cash on collection with £500 deposit via paypal within 12 hours of auction end. The picture of the car on track is not the one for sale it is to show that it will look like with a bit of tlc and work! Advertised elsewhere so may end early depends on the bidding.

I have had a huge amount of interest in my car and to answer some of the questions . 1. Yes it really is the last Lola FF ever built and yes it has provenance to prove it. 2. No the car does not have current "in date" belts and extinguisher . You will need to buy a new set - not expensive. 3. The wheels are the type shown in the pictures not Wellers. 4. When I first got the car I removed the front discs and side aluminium panels for ease of access as I intended to revamp the car for the following years race season but it never happened as I ran out of time and space . These are still off the car but easy to put back on. 5. The body work is there crazed in places and rubbed down in prep to repaint. The car has the modified bodywork for the side rad. configuration but I also have the original shape nose cone to put it back to a front rad. set up. 6. What else will need doing ? Well I guess rose joints are going to need replacing but other that that it should be good to go. I really do suggest that you view if you are seriously interested. Remember this auction is for the purchase of the car - not to come and haggle after its been bought. I have also found -after a mornings searching - a picture of the car back in the mid 80's which I have added together with a picture of it now sat in the workshop. Hope this all helps the 135 watchers.

More information just received about my car and I have posted it for all you 185 good people watching the auction. At the current bid the car is a steal. The gearbox and engine are worth more than that! Good luck with bidding. Hi. I raced this car in 1985. the car was owned by Charles Hills who was run by Team Touraco. He and Team Touraco ran me for a couple of events. From memory we both raced it on the same day. he in the National championship and myself in the regional. I think I still have the original race programmes somewhere and possibly some timesheets. Charles was sponsored by an agrichemicals business. Good luck with the sale.

Photo added of the full list of 644/644e chassis numbers which shows number 28 as the highest and being purchased by Touraco. The engine is built by Warrier who I am told were very good. I have found out more about the car from selling it than I ever did during my ownership. I also understand that another 644 is currently for sale for £7000!
