Relisting my Lotus Excel SE due to an over-optimistic reserve last time.I've lost the use of a garage and just don't use the car enough and I don't want it to deteriorate sat on the drive so it needs to go to a good home.I've had it for just over 2 years.  The previous owner recommissioned it after it was off the road for a few years.  He fitted a new timing belt, new tyres, overhauled brake callipers, a new driver's door window frame, a stainless-steel rear silencer, new rear seat belt lower mounts, rebuilt the purge pump and fixed other minor issues.  Since I've had it, it's had the (original) starter motor rebuilt, a new battery, front brake discs and stainless-steel under-axle exhaust pipes and had the passenger door handle repaired.  The timing belt was replaced a couple of weeks ago.  So the main parts that cause issues with these fine cars have been addressed.  There is some lacquer lift on the roof but the white paint means that it isn't very obvious.  There are chips on the nose and the edges of the doors and some star cracks.  The fan speed control needs a new resistor pack as speed 1 and 2 do not work and there is some delamination of the windscreen on the lower, right-hand corner.  It didn't affect its MOT which it passed without any advisories. The driver's handbook is present complete with the early service stamps.  There is further service information from the 90's when it was in the Liverpool area and a little from the early 2000's when it was in Leicester.  All the MOT certificates seem to be present.  The last owner and I have kept all the receipts for the parts we have bought.  The Lotus jack and handle are present and the jacking plates have been replaced with stainless steel ones from S J Sportscars.  The car is fitted with air conditioning but it has no gas.  I haven't investigated why and suspect it may never have been updated to the latest refrigerant.  An alarm is fitted but I've noticed that some of the wires to it are disconnected.  I don't have a receipt for a clutch replacement but the bite point is nowhere near the top of the pedal travel and there is no obvious clutch slip.  The rev limiter causes a misfire when the engine is cold so I have disconnected it.  So, as you can see, the car is ready to enjoy but I just have too few opportunities to do so and these cars need to be used to stay in good condition.  It can be used as it is or a new owner may want to fix the heater fan, paint and windscreen to make the car immaculate.Inspections are welcome as you are bidding to buy the car, not to reserve it.  I would ask the winning bidder to contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to arrange the payment of a £500 deposit.  Thanks for looking and reading this far. *Before Bidding please make sure you have funds available as a previous buyer has let me down.
