1952 Citroen Light 15

Here for sale is my 1952 Citroen Light 15. I am forced to sell her due to a change in circumstances. She deserves to be used more than she is at the minute.
Built on the 17th September 1952 at Citroen Works. Slough. UK for the export market. She spent the first few years of her life in Nyasaland (Malawi) before being reimported to London in 1960. There is lots of history and documents with the car including receipts of work spent. invoices for work etc and I will also provide (at no extra cost) a few years worth of Traction Owners Club magazines (Floating Power) which are filled with lots of technical bits and bobs from fellow owners and a few pretty pictures to boot! She works on 12Volts with a negative earth. Runs on Unleaded. On a good run you'll get 24-25mpg and she is perfectly usable and drivable. Nothing beats overtaking traffic on the A2 in a 60 year old car.
I am the 6th owner from new having purchased her from Classic Restorations in 2008.
This car has been maintained and serviced throughout by John Gillard (Citroen Traction Avant specialist) at Classic Restorations. Old Kent Road. SE1.
Good Bits: The car has had lots of money spent over the last few years to bring her up to a good standard. Works undertaken include new Roger Williams CV Driveshafts (replacing UV driveshafts). replacement of Silentbloc suspension rubbers. wishbone suspension ball joints replaced. overhaul and replacement of front brakes and rear (in March 2013). fuel pump cleaned and regasketed along with the Solex carb. span > unleaded head conversion. retrim of leather seats by Cass Bros. Bromley. She is clean underneath. having previously been undersealed. door cavities been waxoyled.  I have replaced the standard Slough bumpers (which were in a poor state) with the (in my opinion) nicer French style stainless steel bumpers.
Things to be aware of: Paintwork whilst ok and acceptable is not perfect. it suffers from the old Citroen problem of paint bubbling at door bottoms although replacement door skins are available at a reasonable cost and quite readily through the Traction Owners Club as well at CTA Holland. There is a slight hazing on the rear nearside door from a bad respray although it is only visible in certain lights and a few scuffs and scratches commensurate with the age of the car. It will shortly need one replacement tyre (Michelin X). Some of the rubber trim ie: windscreen rubber and window trim has started to perish
Please don't be put off by the fact it is a French car. When I purchased her as everybody told me "they're complicated to work on" and the old chestnut that "if you need to do anything under the bonnet you'll have to take the wheels. wings. grill. gearbox etc off". in most cases this is rubbish. Incredibly easy to work on and very simple.  I would recommend joining the Traction Owners Club who provide not only a great technical support but also a fantastic availability of spares through its club spares scheme.
Car located in Dartford. Kent. (2 mins from J2 of the M25). Viewing available and recommended.
Any questions please ask.
The car is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
Please. it breaks my heart to sell her so can I please ask for genuine bidders/interest only - I will not take kindly to tyre kickers or dreamers or people who waste my time.
Deposit of £200 to be paid within 7 days of end of listing.

Is your traction light 15 still for sale thanks - I am a private buyer looking to purchase one

from John, dated 06 april 2014
Hi,I have a 52 Slough Light 15 here in Australia.
I was looking for John Gillard's email and came across your add.Your car must be one of the first Big Boot models, and I notice exported to Africa.I'd be keen to compare to compare your Chassis and Coque numbers with my car.
I'm obviously not a potential buyer,but I hope I don't count as a tyre kicker either.
Regards,John.
