1970 Pontiac Formula 400 Stock #: 199 Exterior Color: Yellow Interior Color: Beige Transmission: Manual Engine: 400 ci Mileage: 63,000 VIN: 226870 L 107771 The new Formula 400, replacing the 1967-'69 Firebird 400, was redesigned for 1970 with an entirely new look that was widely acclaimed by the press as a much more “European” looking car.

The standard motor was the L 78 400-ci V 8 with 10.25:1 compression rated at 330-hp/430 lb-ft. The Formula came with firmer springs/shocks, front/rear stabilizer bars, and standard power front disc brakes which also added to the younger and more sporty demanding crowd.Where the Trans Am was, without argument, an “in your face machine”, the Formula 400 exhibited a much more “sleeper” look, allowing the 2 nd gen Firebird's gorgeous Italian sports car-inspired lines to shine without the race car stripes, spoilers, and canards adorning its extroverted brother. Packing all the performance goodies and capabilities of the road race-ready T/A in a less radical package, the Formula 400, was a nice middle ground between pony/muscle car and European-styled GT sport coupes.This example was a one-owner car that has just over 63,000 original miles and is a nice unmolested example with a 4 speed manual transmission. It comes with all of the original documentation that confirms its originality. The exterior did have a repaint but it still looks good and the interior is 100% original. These don't come along very often.
