For sale is my 1986 Austin Maestro 1.3L finished in Targa Red with grey/light brown interior

I purchased this car in December 2019 for the Prostate Cancer Research - Maestro Madness Road Trip that we originally planned for the summer of 2020.

It previously been off the road (stored in a garage) since 2006 by the only owner of the car however, with a new battery and a fresh drop of petrol, started after a few turns.

It is an automatic choke model (from factory) but works fine and a aftermarket glass ‘pop up' sunroof which I believe was fitted when the car was new (it closes perfectly and doe not leak).

It has covered 69,888 miles, I have driven it about 800 miles between January 2020 and August 2021 and then covered 900 miles in a week on our road trip at the end of August 2021.  The car started every time without any hesitation and didn't have any mechanical issues.

What I have done to the car:

New Battery

A full service

Distributor Car, Rotor Arm & Plug Leads

Water Pump and coolant

Alternator Belt

Track Rod Ends

Brake Discs & Pads

New Master Cylinder and Wheel Cylinders

Rear Brake Hoses

N/S/R Wheel Bearing

Rear Exhaust Section

Carburettor Service (inc. Needle)

Oil Pressure Switch

Fitted refurbished ‘Cheesegrater' Alloy Wheels, including a brand new spare wheel to match - I also have the original 13” Steel Wheels including the 4 x original centre caps

4 x New Goodyear Tyres (175/65/14)

Wheel Alignment carried out after new tyres fitted

New Wiper Blades

Replaced both rear wheel arches

Repaired the tailgate and repainted

Replaced the headlining

Replaced the Radio/Cassette for an original Philips unit

Replace some cracked interior trim

The MOT expires 8th September 2022

What's left to do

There are a few bits of bodywork that the next owner will properly want to get done so this car is perfect. The bottom of the drivers door is rusty and there is a little rust in the O/S/F wheel arch (surface) and a couple of other small areas.

I have a fair amount of history with the car, old MOTs, some old bills, all of the receipts/invoices for the work I have carried out, some Tax Discs and a complete book pack including the original service book.

The interior of this car is excellent condition. The dash is not cracked and the seats/carpet are very clean with no rips or tears. It also has a set of carpet mats with red trim to match the body colour.

The car also comes with a tailored ‘Stormshield+ Outdoor Car Cover' which was made by the factory especially for this car (cost £300). It's made from a hard wearing material ideal for long-term outdoor protection, Storm Shield+ is a tri-laminate fabric with a breathable membrane which allows condensation to evaporate away from the surface of the car, preventing the paintwork from damage.

I will include it if the price is right or I can sell it separately through the Maestro & Montego Owners Club.

I also have various spare parts which I will be including in the sale (trim parts etc.)
