Mercury Cougar 1968 XR7 V8 for sale

Welcome to my listing for my 5.0 litre V 8 -1968 Mercury Cougar XR 7.
I am the first UK owner of this car.
For me aesthetics
are
less important - I wanted to create a mad max type look that I didn't have to worry about getting scratched. My pride is in taking the car apart and fully rust treating the insides so when you open the hood it is in excellent condition. The interior has all been custom made too, so it is like a new car inside.
I stripped the car down to a bare shell and started on cutting and replacing the sheet metal from front to back as part of the rust treatment (nothing has been missed).
I have a full history of the build in pictures and receipts, the car has the original paint/patina and is epoxy primed on the roof where the vinyl roof was removed. Combined with the bodywork carried out, it gives the car the Mad Max look. The car has been epoxy painted everywhere from the engine bay through to the inside from roof to floor. It is even painted in the trunk. If you wanted to do a paint job, it is ready to go.
The underneath has been fully cleaned, seam sealed, rust treated, and wax oiled. This means the car can be used all year round unlike other cars where you can't use them in the winter. The engine is a good and strong 302 5.0 V 8 with new twin timing chain fitted, new water pump,inlet manifold and headers, alternator, starter motor and more...
