Beautiful 1976 BMW 2002 restomod. Styled as a street-legal vintage racer. Eye-catching Alpine White with M-stripe side accent. The high-performance 2.0 liter engine starts easily and runs strong. The car shifts and stops beautifully. Approximately 2,500 miles since restoration. MODIFICATIONS BODY - Rust repair and paint, turbo-style flares & air dam, lightweight fiberglass rear bumper, trunk-mounted battery. SUSPENSION - Front & rear adjustable sway bars, Ireland Engineering Stage 2 Sport Spring Set,Bilstein sport shocks/struts, bump steer / camber plates, poly bushings in front and rear control arms, new wheel bearings, rear strut brace, Alpina-style 15" wheels, Bridgestone Potenza RE-71 205/50 R 15 tires. BRAKES - Wilwood front 300 mm big brake system with 2-piece rotors, rear disc brake conversion using VW calipers, performance brake pads, brake booster delete with Porsche master cylinder. ENGINE - Dual Weber DCOE 40 carbs, rebuilt head with valve job and new seals, 292 cam, 9.5 to 1 pistons. tubular 4-1 header, heavy-duty BMW 3-row radiator, new distributor with tii curve, Pertronix electronic ignitor and Pertronix flame thrower coil, engine fuel system has braided hoses and AN fittings, electric trunk-mounted fuel pump and filter, electric cooling fan, new water pump, fuel pressure regulator with gauge, new clutch master and slave cylinders. INTERIOR - Roll Bar, vintage-style low-back bucket seats, leather competition-style steering wheel, competition-style harnesses, aluminum interior panels, rear seat delete, complete competition-style instrumentation including matching tachometer, speedo, fuel, water temp, oil temp and oil pressure gauges.
