Triumph Stag - MK2*** being relisted as previous buyer couldn't pay ****** DO NOT bid if you can't pay ****** Auction Winner to contact me within 48 hours of end of sale and pay 10% deposit - non refundable and make collection arrangements ****** Full payment to be made within 10 days prior to collection - whichever is soonest ***My 1971-2 L Reg Triumph Stag in Pimento, owned my me since 1988.Originally sold as a Mk2 - this was, however, described by the SOC back in the late 1980's as a Mk1.5, as it was an early Mk2 whereby the management at Triumph BL used up the remaining Mk1 stock. It makes this an interesting car for a project. In essence although this car is formally a Mk2 this it was originally supplied by Triumph (BL) with pressed steel and 'Rostyle' insert hubcaps, a Mk1 hood (with rear quarter lights) and it was painted black around the rear lights, but with a Mk2 engine  / air intake configuration and Mk2 seating (i.e. with headrests).Over the years it has been changed to a later Mk 2 look. A recent note from the SOC confirms that this car formally left the factory as a MK2. However, if an buyer want to make this a 'concours' (as it left the factory) car then these little details may be of interest. It would certainly be a discussion point on the SOC show days...!Sadly whilst I have the capability I don't have the capacity to complete this project, I had intended to complete its renovation it for my son but he's not interested in classics... he's only 9 and likes pickups...!So, what's been done and what needs to be completed...Recently (within the last 2 years);- New braking system - pipes and callipers etc.- Work on the clutch system.- Engine overhaul and service.- New out riggers.- New floor panels.- Nearside front panel quarter.- Nearside rear panel forward quarters.- Fuel tank overhaul / renovation.A while ago...- SOC recon engine (an original 3.0 v8), currently only about 5,000 miles on the clock (barely run-in).- SOC recon gearbox and overdrive (fitted the same time as the engine).- Sills.- Hood (albeit now faded).- Electronic fuel pump.- Stainless steel exhaust. To be completed;- Front top panel (between bonnet and lights) - dented when being transported.- Rear boot floor.- Rear valance (under the bumper).- Rear wing quarters.- Door undersides.- New carpets.- New battery. The car will be supplied with the MK2 passenger seat - it's not shown in the picture as the floor panel / out rigger was being welded. As mentioned above I intended to complete this project so... I have almost all the panels and parts needed to complete this project, plus loads of additional spares from lights to ignition as they are becoming rarer to find. Together with a set of Mk1 seats and two complete hardtops but, sadly, not the time. These additional items will available by separate arrangement - I won't list them before the car is sold just in case the new owner also wants to buy them. Finally, it runs and stops fine but would need collecting and transporting.Any questions please contact me.

Note: Payment via BACS transfer is preferred. I have just 'experienced' the eBay/PayPal fee structure on another sale....

Funds will need to be validated / banked prior to the car leaving the property.
