This very original MGB Roadster has recently arrived due to its previous owner of 34 years passing away, this MG has been unused since the end of 2005, but was well kept in a heated garage, after changing the fuel replacing fuel pump and battery the MG burst into life and runs sweetly with good oil pressure, drives very sweetly with quiet driveline and working overdrive in 3 rd and 4 th gears. The owner acquired the MG in November 1987 shortly after it had received a minor restoration work including full body paint totalling just over £1700, the MG at this time had covered 120,000 miles having had an engine rebuild at 80,000 miles with service history invoices from 1977 to 1987 and 10 previous Mo T certs back to 1980 to support this, the owner from 1987 had a Stainless Steel Exhaust Fitted and a new hood and frame, between 1987 and 2005 the MG covered a further 5,000 miles summer use and was then stored as you see it today. The structure is very good with excellent door fit, Alloy Bonnet, original interior and carpets are also very good as is the soft top and frame, the car also comes with full Tonneau Cover that covers the whole interior. All panels are very good as is the boot and floor, the original panel gaps are superb on this car and no misalignments which you see on so many restored MGs, the Green Mallard paint has aged with paint cracks showing over most parts of the surface with some paint flaking on the drivers door, my son thinks it looks superb like this and should be left as is with this patina. The MG starts instantly and drives well on its factory option wire wheels with four speed manual overdrive box, the MG Brakes are a little spongy with a low pedal and would require looking into, but usually master cylinder new, new fluid and brake cylinders should sort this a fairly low cost. We are selling this lovely original MG as is, as we are so often asked by customers who want a car to tinker with and put their mark on a car and keep costs down. We are offering free delivery on this vehicle for up to 80 miles from our location, we can quote you for further distance, so you are purchasing this MG for improvement. Someone with a bit of car knowledge could have this MG on the road within a couple of days and be enjoying it and perhaps improve the paintwork at a later date. The lovely registration GPJ 5 K which has been on the MG from day one is included with car, as is its workshop manual and history folder, Current V 5 and previous V 5 are also with the car.
