One previous owner, it's lovely condition and it's got a complete service history from new (mostly main dealer) with two ring binders full of receipts and correspondence.

The background:

I bought it from its original owner (now 83) and promised him I'd recommission the car which has take rather longer than Id have expected - the car was last MoT'd in August last year and the tester rather unfairly noted the car was in poor condition but I disagreed with his opinion when I saw it.It's already booked in for a re-test on August 7th. It's had minor paint in recent months and a new BMW front wing on the nearside. The arch had been caught on something in a country lane and left, albeit with a piece of gaffer tape over it. I got it back and washed and scrubbed it and it looked way better! The paint has been sorted out and it's an honest bright and shiny example which could be further improved but there's nothing which would stop me from driving it to the South of France tomorrow. It's a very good car and solid. The history file is huge and needs to be seen. The toolkit is there as is the spare wheel.

The good:

The fact its a manual version, leak free, mechanically strong, structurally very good and with a relatively low mileage. It's drive very well with a willing power delivery all the way to the red line and it handles beautifully with just the right amount of body roll. It's very smooth.

For improvement:

Not that much but it's 25+ years old so read on; The rear seat base was there the previous owner's Springer Spaniel liked to sit and the material has frayed, but just on one side. The rear glass hatch has a tired damper so it stays up when it's cold and droops in hotter weather. The driver's door check strap is loose and could do with attention. The tow bar cover is missing so Ive kept the tow bar in place. A few age related marks and dints on the paintwork and I've just spotted a cracked headlamp lens.

Reason for sale:

I don't really have the space to keep it and it doesn't serve a purpose - my work is done having saved it and recommissioned it and I'd like it to go to a good home. I can't think there are many 1or 2 owner E34 models left and this is a much admired and loved car.

My expectations:

I've used Ebay for probably 20 years and overall it's great. I'd be very happy to show you the car and I'm motivated to sell it, and I like to think I'm very easy to deal with but let's have an understanding between us please - the car stays with me until it's paid for, I can be flexible about viewings but we'll need to have made a proper arrangement first (call me on 07967383859), and although I might look at a p/ex or an offer let's keep it sensible. Overall:

I'm a BMW enthusiast and I'll make you very welcome if you want to see it - it's near Plymouth and that's 3.5 hours from west London and Birmingham. I can probably deliver it if that makes life easier but the car will need to be paid for, in advance, and I encourage viewings to manage expectations.
