1979 International Scout II SS2 Sport Utility 2-Door 5.6L

CVI's (Custom Vehicles Inc. ) were converted or dolled up scouts made from late 1978 through 1980. just around the corner from the scout assembly plant in Ft. Wayne. IN by an independent contractor for IH. These packages: Sportstar. Travelstar. Midnitestar. Terrastar. Classic (2 colors in gold & black striping). GMS(Green Machine Sport). Trailstar. Raven. Shadow. 5. 6 Liter. 3. 2 Liter. Hot Stuff(the only 100wb scout built with a half top). Billy The Kidd “ski scout” etc. . were geared from certain regions of North America. The CVI packages could be ordered through the IH Dealers. The packages could include special stripes. plastic SSII grille or tailgate insert(2 styles: one matching the SSII grille the other had the word "Scout" on the right side which was used on the 1980 CVI models). long console(automatic only). side window louvers. special side mouldings(upper & lower). Hurricane Aluminum wheels. and yes hood scoops on certain package models such as the Terrastar and Midnitestar. The aforementioned information is provided to give you some history on these vehicles from the late seventies

This ScoutII is equipped with 5. 6L liter V-8 engine w/a 4-bbl carb. factory automatic transmission. factory air conditioning that blows cold. power steering & brakes. AM/FM radio. CB radio. Custom Flexsteel seats from Custom Vehicles Inc. . full lift-off convertible top and sport wheels. This Scout came from the Estate of the second owner who passed away recently . I was told that he purchased the Scout in 1996 from the original owner. Each owner driving the vehicle for 16-17 years. This car has been maintained here in the dry climate of Eastern Colorado most. if not all it's life. The body is in solid condition w/only minor rust bubbles showing on the left rocker area. which is barely noticeable. There is a pictures of it as well as any other minor damage found on vehicle.
