Here we have a unique opportunity to purchase the last Vauxhall Cavalier to be built at the Luton factory on 21st July 1995. prior to the factory switching production to the Vectra-B.
It is a Cavalier Classic 1. 8i 5dr in Satin Red metallic with grey cloth trim.  Spec includes twin air bags. ABS. stereo radio/cassette with electric aerial. power steering. electric front windows and 5spd manual gearbox.

The car was sold new to its first owner. Mr Pollard. in 1995 by Cowie Leamington Spa by salesman Wally Green. when the car came back in PX a few years later. Wally then sold it to his own brother Peter who kept the car until the engine blew one day (no. 3 conrod let go on a motorway slip road) in 2007.
In 2008. the car found itself with a scrap dealer near Northampton who supplies cars to the military for target practice. however the dealer's secretary found the Heritage Certificate in the car and they decided to offer it for sale to see if someone would like to save it from being destroyed.  This is where we stepped in. and purchased the car in May 2008.
The old engine had several holes in the block. and the radiator. from the exploding con-rod. and after a few phonecalls. we managed to secure a new engine through Vauxhall from Linwood Engineering in Tipton.  A week later. with help from friends in the Vauxhall Opel Driver's Club. the engine was changed (96. 63 miles) and a new radiator and clutch was fitted at the same time.  As part of the recommissioning. the car also had the bodywork 'mopped'. a brand new set of genuine Vauxhall hubcaps fitted. new boot badges. new driver's seat cover (old one torn) fitted and one mirror cover replaced.  Six weeks after purchase. the vehicle was on display at the VBOA Rally at Billing Aquadrome as part of Vauxhall's Heritage Display.
This vehicle still drive's like a new car. and is a real pleasure to drive. however too many projects. and not enough space mean that this car now needs to find a new home sadly.
The condition is very good. however there are a couple of marks that would require attention to make the car mint. most noticeably a small dent in one of the rear arches. some key scratches round the driver's door lock. and some bonnet scratches. that despite the best efforts of 'Chips Away' will not come out. so you'd probably want to factor in respraying the bonnet.
The car is insured. following advice from the Cavalier and Chevette Club (VBOA Affiliated) for £6. 00. however in light of the fact this car does need a small amount of paintwork. and that we are looking for a quick sale. the asking price is substantially under this amount.
The car was also displayed at the NEC Classic Motor Show in 2012 on the Cavalier and Chevette Club stand. where it attracted a lot of interest.  We have shown the car at many events. and the best comment we've heard so far is "so this is the last decent car Vauxhall ever made then?" :-)
The car currently has an expired MOT and is on SORN. however the car will come with a brand new MOT and can also be taxed at your cost so you can drive it away with confidence.  The car is now showing 99. 50 miles (approx).
Further pics and info available on request. car is in Nottinghamshire near J27 of the M1. however if you wish to test drive the car you will need to bring your own Trade Plates as the car is not currently road legal due to no MOT or Tax.
Please note if you agree to buy the car. do not come round and kick tyres or moan its not a Turbo or GSi. this is a unique car that needs a loving and deserving new home with a Vauxhall enthusiast who will enjoy the car. but also preserve it and its heritage. maybe even end up in a museum!
The car will come with its originial Heritage Certificate from Vauxhall. and lots of other history and paperwork.
Thanks for looking. and good luck bidding :-)

Hi,
I'm guessing your Cavalier sold a while ago but if not please let me know I'm currently looking at owning another Cavalier and your advert keeps popping up on searches.
Regards,
Simon.
