I need to free up my time and funds for another project so I am selling my South African Fleetline Split Screen Panel Van. This was built around 1975 and has a number of nice features that the earlier 1967 splitties didn't have. such as:

12 V Electrics

1. 6 L Engine (SFAS 142079)

High Ratio Gear Box (113 301 173 B)

The looks of a pre 1963 model

Odometer reads 61822

This is a Right Hand Drive kombi and has been recently imported from South Africa. I have paid all the Import duties and VAT. and will supply the buyer with a certificate from HM Revenue and Customs to prove this. You will also receive the following documents on completion of the sale:

Permit to export goods from the Republic of South Africa

Affidavit from the seller in South Africa stamped by the South African Police Service and signed by the Commissioner of oaths

Car condition report

South African Police Service Motor Vehicle Clearance Certificate

VAT and Import Duties receipt

Invoice for the sale of the vehicle

Registration forms (to be completed)

In order to get the van on the road you will need to MOT it and get it registered. I have the registration papers which I will also supply to the buyer.

As you can see from the photos this van has had some aftermarket windows let in. Panel vans are become pretty rare and difficult to get hold of. especially RHD versions. I was therefore planning to weld up the windows. However you could graft in some genuine windows from a donor section of an 11 windows van. or buy some EZ Camper/Westfalia style aftermarket windows.

How much bodywork you want to put into this van is quite subjective. and depends on the look you want to achieve. For an MOT I would suggest the following work needs to be done:

Fit new passenger side front jacking point

Fit a crossmember

Repair holes in cargo floor (just a few behind the drivers seat)

Replace passenger side front glass.

To get the van really nice you might also want to:

Repair pitting in the roof gutter around the drivers side

Remove dents in the front panel

Remove dents in the roof

The engine has been removed. and there are no keys. so you will need to buy a new ignition barrel and locks. The engine looks to be in good condition with no signs of end float. A wiring loom is in place.

The van steers and the wheels are free. so it can be pushed around.

Obviously this is only my opinion. you may feel more work is needed. or that some of the above isn't necessary at all. If you are really serious then a viewing is recommended.

The winning bidder must be ready to pay a non refundable deposit of £200 within 48 hours of the auction ending. If you don't make the payment I will make a second chance offer to other bidders. Collection needs to be made within 2 weeks of the auction ending. A neighbour has a tow/recovery vehicle. so I'm happy to get a quote to transport the camper van for you (at your cost). I will only get a quote once the auction has ended. as I can't ask him 100 times for everyone who fancies a bid. Cash or bankers draft on collection.
