1956 Lincoln Continental MK II

Description

According to history recorded with the Continental Mark II registry. this car. chassis 1537 (the 566 th Mark II built of 3018 build in total from 1956-57) was delivered new from the factory with Air Conditioning and finished in black with Medium Grey and Deep Grey two-tone interior.

Since the Mark II catered to the most discriminating clientele and was so eminently customizable from the factory. this is one of just 11 cars built in this exact color configuration. The car has lived in Southern California since at least 1978. with decades spent in San Diego before making its way to Palm Springs with the most recent owner in 2007. and it still retains original Black Plates. which are included with the car.

1537 is now the recipient of an incredible full restoration with an eye toward show-quality presentation with regular and enjoyable real world usability. To that end. the rust-free body was totally stripped. and the sheet metal. paint. brightwork. and trim all refinished to concours standards. Underneath. the engine has been rebuilt and upgraded with an improved radiator and cooling system plus hidden throttle body fuel injection and disc brakes to make the car perform smoothly and reliably in modern traffic. no matter what the conditions.

This factory-A/C Mark II simply ranks as one of the very finest examples on the market.
