This is an original Sea Blue under Cumulus White. Deluxe 21 walkthru. no modifications. THE REAL DEAL!!!

This is a '67 and started life in N. J. I was told. It has been in Arizona for the majority of it's life. It is a very straight Bus with very little rust compared to the majority of the ones that I have seen.

This Bus Is headed for a full. concours restoration. It is the perfect project Bus for it considering how straight and rust free it is.   Important things like the door lines. large flat drivers panel. roof. window openings. etc are in amazing original. untouched. condition. Rust is very minimal. focused mainly on the rockers and small spot repairs.

My goal was to perform quite a few modifications during restoration. The Bus had Volvo seats in the front when I got it. The previous owner had cut the passenger seat back for them to sit. I bought a swivel seat assembly out of a late bay window Bus that I will give with the Bus. This way you can install two drivers side seats in this Bus and swivel the passenger side. I was going to build a custom camper interior so I have sold the middle and rear seats. The outer rocker skin on the cargo door side were bubbling so I cut it off. Plans should be made to replace the inner rockers as well. This way all metal on the rockers will be new. This Bus is ready for replacement panels & paint.

The beautiful thing about this Bus is that the doors and the door lines are all beautiful. The cargo doors had perfect lines when I took the rocker skin off. I can tell you this so that you can easily line up the new rockers to the doors and everything should go smoothly for a perfect door to rocker line.

The different areas on the Bus have been tapped and will need to be straightened very slightly. The rear apron is present and is in nice shape as well.

I don't remember the mileage off hand but I will take a look at the speedometer and update the listing.

Regardless. this is a straight. solid framed. solid bodied Bus ready for your restoration. The skylight windows and windshield sills have mild pitting and no more than a few pin holes or areas that need attention. This is a very common are on these skylight Buses that make it a real drag to restore. This Bus will get by with very little tig welding to fill the few problem areas(they are not all rotted away like so many)!

The trransmission is a roller. front beam has gone untouched from when I bought this Bus and was a functioning driving assembly. good brakes at the time. etc.

Beyond obvious. you are looking at a restoration project. For where this Bus has been torn down to. I can tell you that this is one of the sweetest bare bone 21's that I or any of my close Vw friends have ever seen. It should require very straight forward assembly from this point and regardless if you know Vw Buses or not. you can see how straight forward restoration will be as there are no hidden areas at this point.

Problem spots;

Front floors look decent. as does the front lower nose. The lip on the lower front. right where the bumper would hide it. has been tapped lightly. For a perfect finish it will need to be lightly pulled.

Seat pedestal has been cut out for those of you looking for an original restoration.

Back left battery tray and corner skin will need a little attention. It looks like a very old damage that trapped water and caused rust there on the lower portion.

Skylight windows need skillful welding in problem areas.

Minor spot rust areas will need patched. I have taken photos of 99% of what there is.

The undercarriage has been undercoated. This did a great job of keeping the entirety rust free after it made it to the desert where it spent the most of it's life. however in several areas the undercoating cracked and held moisture. In these areas. mostly easy flat sheet replacement areas(areas usually not rusty). this Bus has holes. For an example. you will find that the passenger dog-leg is near immaculate(especially where you scrape undercoating. original flawless paint). but you will have one random hole where the undercoating cracked and it is in an area that you never see a Bus begin to rust(right on a random spot on the panel) Good to say. there are few of these. My photos show the areas. Please note the passenger side rear roof has the aluminum tape. There is a small screwdriver slot hole that will need to be patched. I put the tape over to keep water out when the Bus was being power washed.

The ok;

You are looking at welding in inner and outer rockers. etc. prior to paint

Most materials have been scrapped like turn signal lenses. etc that anyone would buy new anyway to put against their perfectly painted Bus.

Missing seats for those looking for an all original resto.

The great;

Obviously a low mileage Bus by how straight and rust free it is. I found no evidence of anyone doing any strange modifications to the bus(cutting dash holes. playing electrician. installing a corvair engine. etc. This is an honest. straight forward Bus you are looking to restore. No fixing anyone's idea of a cool mod other than the seat back on the passenger side. This is a very rare thing to see on an old Deluxe!!

No real accidents. ever! The Bus is straight! It has had a little nose tap. drivers rear corner bump. but really. The sides are incredible!!! Door lines are fantastic!!

Hard to find '67 only parts are in possession. I have the original speedo. clock. fuel gauge. wiper assembly. etc that are all original to the Bus and 12V!!

The sunroof mechanism is rust free and in amazing shape. even the handle!

All skylight windows are in excellent condition. included is new rubber that they are wrapped in to keep them safe.

The greatest;

I can restore this Bus for you to concours condition if you are serious about the game and don't have a brother or best friend that does this for a living. I believe that my business does the most flawless restorations available. period. Please send a message with your number and I will call.

Please feel free to ask any questions & Good luck bidding!!

Christopher
