I have put on a couple more pictures to try and answer a couple of questions in relation to the engine bay and and bonnet area. The underside is clean and I am driving it around at the moment. with no issues. Regarding the history. Apparently it was bought by a serving soldier in Germany in 1955 and was new then. He specified right hand drive. He brought it back to the UK at the end of his posting and it was re registered in June 1956 at DVLA. I dont have a specification book for Beetles. so cannot verify this story I was told when I bought it just over a year ago. The main reason for sale is that due to work commitments it tends to stay locked up in the garage most of the time.
