Ford Lotus Cortina Mk2

when I purchased this car all the parts were in a box and the shell had been shot blasted . but . unfortunately this had been 20 years ago and with the shell left out side was beyond restoration . nd I mean beyond restoration . almost had to sweep it into the dust bin

So instead of reshelling into a standard two door shell an Austrailian shell was sourced . which as you know has all the strengthening panels as the UK Lotus including double skinned rear chassis legs

This is a June 1967 reg car with the correct serris 1 shell being used

Some repairs were carried out to the bottom of the A posts and front jacking points along with spare wheel. sills and minor repair to drivers side floor well .

Two years in restoring this car and now I have decided to sell to make way for my next project (and give me some money for my next project which is a mk 1)

This car is in extremely good condition having been stripped bare and painted in 2 x ermine white with Sherwood green stripe using Ford template . the underside was primed . coated with`` gravitex ``(which is a rough textured stone chip coating ) and then painted in ermine white . nd finally wax oiled . including inside sills and chassis legs . the wheels have been shot blasted and painted in steel grey with 4 new tyres fitted

. (if the winning bidder would like either Dunlop D 1`s or Dunlop D 4`s rather than steels then that could be arranged before delivery/collection)

All parts in the car are of the original car apart from the seats and carpet . these would benefit from being renewed . there is slight cracking to the dash top but not bad. the servo I can`t gurentee so has been bypassed and has passed the MOT okay

Some new/reconditioned parts fitted to the car are. rear spring bushes . dynamo . starter . battery . rear brake cylinders . brake pipes . distributor cap. plugs and leads . front windscreen rubber and a new water pump kit to the engine . the exhaust is a 2" two box system which was fabricated in my work shop . he spotlights on the car are not for sale

The car drives well with no oil leaks ( well. minimal considering its a lotus ) and starts first time was MOT`d and tax`d June this year

I have added up the price of all the parts for this car if sold separately on e bay and they would fetch in excess of £10. 00 so you know the price I expect this to reach

the car is advertised elsewhere so may. if sold. be removed from this listing early or . if a sensible offer is made will be removed also I REPEAT THE SPOT LIGHTS ON THE CAR ARE NOT FOR SALE AND WILL BE REMOVED BEFORE SALE ENDS
