Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.25) based on 432 votes
I am amazed at many of the cars I get in to the showroom for many reasons. This very rare Morris Traveller Splitscreen with cheese grater style grill. is no exception. I had never actually seen a splitscreen traveller before. Convertibles & Saloons yes but never a splitscreen. So to find this little gem in such outstanding condition was hard to believe when I saw it.

A very nice gentleman from the MMOC has contacted me. to let me know this is one of about 20 surviving vehicles! Now that is rare.

The Vehicles History

The vehicle was built as a RHD UK Home Market Vehicle in August 1954 & supplied to dealer Stewart & Adern Ltd in London. Supplied in Clarendon Grey with Maroon interior.

Engine 112837
All according to the supplied Heritage Certificate

This Cars Restoration History

The car was purchased by the current owner in November 1999. He then set about restoring the vehicle to an absolutely outstanding vehicle over a period of 18 months. In May 2001 the vehicle received it's first MOT by the current owner.

Although receipts for parts where not supplied by the owner he has stated the following was done to the vehicle. at great expense:

Full body of restoration & a £3. 00 re-spray at 2001's prices!
All panels repaired or replaced where necessary
Full new wood
Whilst refurbishing. sensible upgrades where added

Rebuilt uprated engine to 1098cc
Upgraded Newton Commercial custom Traveller interior with reclining & adjustable front seats.
Rear indicators as shown in pictures of a period spec for safety (the travellators are still in working order as shown in the photos)
Servo
Disc Brakes
Alternator
Uprated suspension
Gas struts to rear opening doors (again in photos)
These where all sympathetic upgrades as the current owner intended to use regular. covering around 2000 miles per year. I would not believe it. if I hadn't seen all MOT's since 2001 showing 20. 00 miles covered in the last 12 years. as the car looks like it came from the restoration shop yesterday. It is amazing. I can only say very careful dry miles must have been travelled. I can not find a single flaw to the paintwork or interior as the 30 or so pictures on our website show. (please go to Cotswold Classic Car. com website for more photos if on a third party website).

I have included so many photos including detailed close up shots. in an attempt to show you just how special this car is. I am currently looking for sensible offers as i'm finding it hard to value the car. But with a Bay Window in this condition selling for £11. 00 - £14. 00 this is worth considerably more. so only genuine enquiries please.
