1949 International Harvestor KB-1 Half Ton Barn Find Pickup Truck. Short Bed KNOX Box. Excellent Running and Driving!!!

Here we have for sale a very rare 1949 International Harvestor KB-1 half ton pickup truck that is in unbelievable original condition. This is a barn find pickup that was found in the dry desert of Nevada. The truck has been sitting for years when I found it. It is all complete and has some incredibly rare options on it. The uber rare short bed. KNOX box is in beautiful original conditon. Look at the wood bed! Its amazing how good of condition the wood is from all these years. It has smooth sides unlike the common diamond plate sides that are on all of the KNOX boxes that are out there. When I discovered the truck. the bed was chuck full of junk. thank god because that is what probably preserved the wood from the damaging sun from over the years. The truck also has an original KB-1 half ton rear bumper. those are incredily rare to find on trucks and especially in this condition. Its not bent up or anything. The truck has the most amazing patina on it. Its all natural from normal wear and tear. The primer is just popping through in a few areas. Its so sweet! There is cracking paint. and rock chips. It has had one repaint years and years ago. but it was done in the original dark green color. There is some flaking paint on the right rear fender and the roof. The truck has the straightest fenders I have ever seen on an original unrestored pickup. The rear fenders are in excellent condition. I understand that the fenders are unique to KNOX box's The tailgate is really nice and not dented up from having things set on it. The front grille and stainless trim is complete and looks killer. The stainless is really nice and only has a few dings on the outer wings. Not the center stainless. The lens and headlight rings are bright and shiny chrome. The front bumper is nice chrome and just minimally worn from driving over the years. The running board on the passenger side is pushed in on the edge just ever so slightly. Its hard to even tell. The body is straight as an arrow with no dents or dings in it. The is no rust through on the entire truck. The only place that I note is the passenger side front fender right at the bottom. there is a little rust through. Its so minor. I can't even understand why that would occur there. However. that is no big deal. The original windows are all intact. The front windows have a little bubbling in them. I think it adds to the overall character of the original beauty of a truck. I put brand new 650x16 white wall bias ply tires. with brand new tubes on the truck. The wheels are original to the IHC and have been powdercoated so they can stand the test of time. The original hubcaps are all nice with only little minor dings and patina on them. The brakes have all been refurbished and stop excellent. The engine is the original to the truck Green Diamond 214ci straight 6 engine with 4 speed manual transmission. The engine is the original numbers matching to the truck when it was built in 1949. The chassis is original to the truck when it was built in 1949. Its incredible that everything is numbers matching and the vin plate proves that. The engine purrs like a well oiled machine. It runs fantastic and the clutch and tranmission works great. The original 4 speed tranmission is non sycroed. so you have to double clutch to shift. We rebuilt the original Carter Ball and Ball carburetor. We rebuilt the original fuel pump. We put new points. condensor. coil. nbsp;spark plugs. wires. nbsp;rotor. and cap on the engine.  The interior is nice with an old school seat cover on the stock bench seat. I put in an original style floor mat. with insulation so driving down the road its really quiet. The dash is real nice with original green paint on it. All of the hard to find in original condition knobs are there. The steering wheel is original but its cracked. The horn button is still there. The gauge cluster is nice and original. Every gauge works except the gas gauge. I think it can be in the wiring from the sender to the gauge. I do not know for certain though. There is an old heater in the cab. however it needs to be wired to the underdash knob. The glove box still has the cardboard liner. The windows all roll up and down. I replaced the windows sliders and door weather stripping. The front window comes in and out. The wiring on the truck is going to need attending to. Its old and brittle in areas. The headlights work but the tail light does not. This is an old original truck that is not perfect but has tons and tons of character. It has an amazing look that is hard to beat by any other truck manufactuer. The patina is so cool on the truck. Do not forget about the rare short bed KNOX box with smooth bed sides. The amazing condition wood bed floor. The original KB-1 rear truck bumper. It all put together makes one incredile example of an original 1949 International KB-1 half ton pickup truck. Such a cool and rare truck that needs to find a new home. I have a clean Nevada title for it. I can store the truck for the buyer up to one month. I will charge a $75 a month fee for every month after that. I can help assist in coordinating shipping with the buyer if needed. This is a running and driving pickup. Easy loading and unloading onto a trailer. Please contact me with any and all questions you might have before bidding on the IHC. My phone number is 775-830-6760. Thanks for looking!
