VINTAGE 1928 CADILLAC LA SALLE 303 Town Sedan 5 litre V8

Registered in UK BF6563 and Taxed to August 2014

I bought this car by mistake at the RM Auction last year of the Danish museum collection of Baron Raben-Levetzau of Denmark's Aalholm Castle where it had been on display for many years. My wife has now banned me from ever bidding on line at live auctions!

Since the car was delivered I have bought two new tyres and tubes (£455). these are with the car but not fitted. Checked the engine turns over OK. but have not attempted to start it. Sprayed all the chrome with WD40 and wrapped it up in a couple of tarpaulins to keep the weather off it.

I have also registered the car in the UK and it has been issued with an age related number BF 6563 and V5c

Under the bonnet the museum had fitted a small petrol can to the bulkhead to enable them to drive the car about the museum without having to put petrol in the large petrol tank.

The car will need a battery. number plates and some tidying up. Items I have noticed are: woodworm holes in the running boards. fabric roof probably needs replacing. seat material worn in places. drivers side door glass will not wind up as the inside handle is broken.

The car is available for viewing send e-mail message for address and phone number.

The first LaSalle's rolled off the assembly line at Cadillac in 1927. the first design for GM by the now legendary Harley Earl. GM engineers designed a new V8 for the LaSalle line. It was a simpler. less expensive engine and. in the long run. the LaSalle unit proved superior in every respect to the original Cadillac V8. It was undoubtedly one of the best looking American cars of its day. with fenders that were long and sweeping. The two-tone colour combinations. a novelty in the late 1920's. were sensational. The LaSalle's dashing looks. fine performance. and competitive pricing. made it an instant hit.

Starting price is £5. 00 with no reserve. The better half says it's got to go!

Overseas buyers. I can put you in touch with a shipping agent.
