This Guinness World Record Holding 1963 Volkswagen Beetle is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Beetle. Bug. or officially Type 1. No matter what you call it these are known for being the people’s car. Easy to work on but that’s if it ever breaks down as these little people movers are known for their dependability and durability. This black 64 has a lot of the normal things that most VW owners do to make there Bugs a lot more useful in today’s fast paced world. The original 1200 cc 40 HP engine has been replaced with one of the most sought after 1600 Dual port Motor. Built in California and shipped to KY for installation this is one of the best running bugs I have been in. Naturally when you go faster you will need to stop quicker. With the addition of disc upfront stopping has increased substantially while giving much better feel and less fade. The dual port master cylinder keeps everything nice and smooth. The interior is one of the coolest with the real deal “Hippie” door panels making a bold upfront statement which is what these cars are all about. The black vinyl interior only makes those panels stand out that much more. Yet still the coolest thing about this bug Guinness world record it holds. On December 9 th 2010 Asbury university stuffed 20 adults into this exact car. Not a car LIKE this one but this actual car. I must say if there was ever a cool backstory to a car that must be one of the best.
