Negatives

Some small splits (heavy

duty tape repaired) to edge of the Webasto roof where it has been folded

back over the years. Still fully watertight with no leaks Headlining shows

some very obvious age discolouration and some splitting The dashboard top is

starting to split (heavy duty tape repaired). Second-hand replacement included in the sale The under steering

column rubber ignition key housing is missing Both rear interior

panels have speakers (with no covers) fitted The drivers seat

cushions are a little soft and squashed and the lower outer bolster edge of the drivers seat back leather seat

cover is starting to show some obvious wear and discolouration The interior trim itself does show the odd mark. scuff and some of the panels show screw heads (black. so not obvious) added doubtlessly to replace the original metal retaining clips which always seemed to fail to hold the trim panels in place One of the petrol tank / spare wheel boot cover panels is not original. having being replaced by a plywood home made item. As it sits under the boot carpet. it is in no way obvious and is actually more secure than a lot of original ones I've seen! Chrome front windscreen

and rear hatch trim removed (my preference as I feel the car looks better without

the trim). Original front windscreen trim included in the sale Chrome bumpers have

some slight age pitting but nothing serious and still very presentable.

Rear bumper has had a tow bar fitted at some point in the past and the

small edge holes have been filled with black plastic grommets The rear hatch outside edge of the window rubber is starting to obviously split in one top corner. Cosmetic only and it is still fully water tight One front bumper

plastic over-rider shows some splitting Both lower front

corner panels (housing the front indicators) are fibreglass replacements Both doors are

slightly misaligned (probably after refit during the 2002 restoration). No

problems closing. just really a cosmetic observation The bonnet front is set

slightly too high above the bumper. again probably after refit during the 2002

restoration

Steering wheel trim

is starting to split through age and has been repaired with heavy duty tape. The steering wheel itself is sound but looks a little aged The paintwork shows

the odd small paint chip and nick and a couple of the body panels also

show the odd very minor dent The under-bonnet bulkhead area paint is tarnished

and pitted around the brake and clutch fluid reservoirs (as always).

Non of these body faults are obvious.

and represent nothing more than general wear and tear and in no way

detract from the overall quality of this GT

To appreciate how good this GT 6 is. and to be clear about the negatives. prospective purchasers should view the car before bidding. I am in Reading. Berkshire and viewing will be by appointment only. Please contact me (Patrick) on 07803 086991 to arrange things.

I am more than happy for any independent inspection to be undertaken (at your cost) if required.

However. please note that despite the car being (in my opinion) in excellent condition for its 40 year age. it is not concours and is not being sold as such.

Owning a car like this means there will always be work to do and things to improve as this is a 40 year old British Leyland sports car and not a 5 year old BMW and as such will not drive or behave like a 5 year old BMW. If you expect to do 20. 00 miles a year without some level of maintenance and repair then I'm afraid this is not the car for you.

In addition to the negatives that have been detailed. there may well be other minor faults and defects I have missed in describing the car (not on purpose) as I am an enthusiast and not an expert.

Any questions or for further details. please do not hesitate to contact me via email ( patrickjolin btinternet. com ) or on the mobile above.

I do not have a Buy It Now price and have set what I feel to be a very reasonable reserve.

Strictly no canvassers.

If you do bid and win then I will require an immediate deposit of £500 to be paid by Pay Pal within 24 hours of the auction end and the balance paid in cash on collection.

The final auction price is the price to be paid and there will be no post auction negotiations .

You win. you buy and failure to complete will result in the matter being reported to Ebay as a non-payment.

Sorry to sound heavy handed but time-wasting is not an option. so please. please. please view before you bid to buy.

Thanks for looking.
