Calvy Mitchel for sale
Current customer rating:
Welcome to a very reluctant auction for my
Calvy Mitchel.
Registered as a 1964 historic vehicle. this car has full years MOT and is tax-free. It was factory built in the early 80's as the company demonstrator (I have the original magazines of the time. which clearly show this car with it's registration and I will include these in the sale).
The Calvy Motor Company only made 55 of these cars. Based in Southampton they offered the cars as either complete build. or in kit form. before a fire destroyed the factory. and it is now a very rare car.
I have had this car for over 4 years and in that time. the only problem I had was a perished fuel hose between the two carbs's that took about 10 mins to put right. I have also replaced the bucket seats with what I think are Triumph stag ones as am not a small chap and the buckets were too tight.
I have just had her completely resprayed. and the windscreen replaced. The parts for this car are not a problem as her engine and running gear are all MGB.
She's been fantastic fun to own and drive. easily able to keep up with modern traffic and an absolute joy on sunny days with the top down. The only reason I am selling her is I now have a vintage car to play with so she's not getting used much and stays in the garage.
I would welcome any professional inspection. and would prefer any bidder to have a look round her before bidding as well as jump in the passenger seat and I will show you how she handles
She's not perfect. if you want to spend the money the exhaust is loud. the wipers are rubbish (I never use her in the rain anyway) and the tires are legal but getting old. but she passes her mot every year and I can say with confidence that she can be driven to any part of the country buy the new owner.
Any questions please ask and you will get an honest answer. I do not have access to a computer at work so I will not get back to you until the evening. If you want to see the car please give me as much notice as you can.
Sorry to the many genuine Ebay users out there but I will not put up with dreamers. tire kickers or time wasters. I am not going to ask for a deposit because I want the car to go to the right person and I am in no hurry to sell. But be warned if you win without coming to see her then back out of the deal or try to bargain on the day I will report to Ebay .
Please note the car is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to withdraw if sold.
I will except cash. bankers draft or checks but will only release the car when funds are cleared.
Happy bidding!

Hello, as you can see by my name my father was the co founder of this company and it’s great to see that there’s still some cars out there. They were made in Southend on sea not Southampton and you are correct in saying that the factory burned down. Wish you all the best with selling the car, best regards Ben.
