1958 Land Rover Other short wheel base for sale

This 1958 series II is the first year of the series II and this body style and this truck was built for the Canadian market in that it has very rare one piece doors . this truck started life as a 2 litre diesel and with this engine vary rare today. Sadly after spending considerable time and money we had it running but we found it very under powered for todays motoring as 45 to 50 mph was all she had to give. So the decision was made to convert it to gas and we just finished installing a new Rovers North rebuilt engine. and we added a fairey overdrive and a set of silky smooth Warn M 11 free wheeling hubs. so now she rolls down the road at 60 mph .
This trucks history is know as it was brought into Canada and then was sold to a vineyard in norther California and was then sold to a collector in Charlotte N. C. and then sold to another collector in Montana and is now with it current owner back in Charlotte N. C.
This truck has only covered 28000 miles by the odometer and although i can not prove it but you can still see all of the production line chalk marks on the original frame. I have over 35 years of experience with these trucks and this is one of the best I have seen. We recently removed all of the galvanize and had it re galvanized and re installed and this really add to the overall detail. The truck comes with both the installed 2. 25 gas engine and because of its rarity we are selling the original 2 litre as well and the conversion was done in such a way as it can be converted back if desired.
