Well where do I start. A number of years ago I was told about a car sitting in a garden rotting away. "What is it"? I asked. I almost fell off my chair when I was told that it was a Mumford Marina. When I went to look at it I was shocked at how far it had been allowed to deteriate. After negotiating a price with the owner I became the new proud owner. The car has been completely rebuilt from the ground upward. I originally started the work but as I lost the workshop that I was working in the work was done by a very knowledgable gentleman on the Isle of Wight to a very high standard. The car came back to me as a rolling shell. Every part of the rebuild has been done using new parts where possible. Where new parts were not available very good condition secondhand parts were used. Just about everything has been replaced. The engine has undergone a complete rebuild as well and the machine work was done by Ivor Searles. The suspension is all uprated. She has the thicker torsion bars and upright shocks on the front and the rear is supported by estate springs and lowered on 1" lowering blocks to bring her back to the original ride height. The wheels are Lotus Star Mags and have also been fully refurbished at great expense. None of the normal wheel refurbishment companies would touch them because there was too much work involved. Can you believe that?  There is a veneered dash in her as well. Once again fully refurbished. This car has had so much done to it I could be here all night telling you about it. It was shown at the NEC last November and if you watch Wheeler Dealers you will also see it in the Mk1 Ford Escort programme that Mike Brewer did. The car is reputed to have belonged to Linda Lusardi as she was photographed with the car for The Sun newspaper back in the '70's. Unfortunately at the moment the ownership cannot be proved but the photo session was done as people remember it being in the paper. On the whole this is one very special and very rare car and it goes like hell. It would benefit from going on a rolling road and being set up properly. Something I didn't feel the need to do as she goes like a rocket now. If you fancy owning a very rare piece of automotive history then this is your chance. I'm not asking the earth for her as I know I won't get it but I'm not giving it away either. The rebuild has cost me a small fortune but has been worth it to save a very rare car from the scrapyard.  I will answer any questions you have as honestly as I can and if you wish to view the car please contact me as viewing is not a problem. Only serious bidders please. There is no buy it now unless you offer me silly money. then be prepared to lose your arm. I can supply any amount of photos that you would require. you only have to ask. I would require 10% of the winning bid to be paid through Paypal within 24 hours of the auction end and the balance paid in cash upon collection of the vehicle. The car is advertised elsewhere and may be removed from the auction if sold by other means.  Good luck.

I would appreciate seeing the photos, I have only been able to open 2 of them. In addition to the photo's that won't open I would like to see the dashboard and under the bonnet.Does the top fold over the cabin? How does it seal?

Regards,

Nigel
