Technical specifications, photos and description:
THE CAR WAS RE REGISTERED WITH SWANSEA IN 1989 AS THE EARLIER DOCUMENTATATION WAS LOST AND MISSED THE DVLA DEADLINE FOR COMPUTERISATION. SOLD TO ME AS 1 FAMILY OWNED FROM NEW AND WAS IN DRY STORAGE FROM 1991 UNTIL 2010 WHEN I BOUGHT IT. ORIGINALLY BLACK AND STILL IS UNDER THE BONNET AND IN THE BOOT. I FELT IT WOULD LOOK NICER IN OLD ENGLISH WHITE AND IT DOES. PICTURES WERE TAKEN FRIDAY THE SECOND OF THIS MONTH AT MY SONS WEDDING IN HAMPSHIRE AND IT COMPLETED THE JOURNEY FROM WILTSHIRE WITH ONLY THE SPEEDO PACKING UP ON THE RETURN JOURNEY. SANDED BACK TO BARE METAL. BOTTOM OF THE WINGS WAS REPAIRED FRONT AND BACK. DOORS AND TOPS OF WINGS REQUIRED ONLY COSMETIC ATTENTION. BONNET AND FRONT PANEL NOTHING AT ALL. TWO PACK HIGH BUILD PRIMER. THEN OLD ENGLISH WHITE GREY SHADE. WAS APPLIED. BUMPERS SIDE TRIMS AND A FEW OTHER PARTS RECHROMED. FRONT GRILL WAS ALREADY PAINTED AND BUDGET WAS LOW SO IT WAS REPAINTED. ENGINE AND BOX AND REAR AXLE REQUIRED NO ATTENTION. BRAKES WERE REBUILT WITH NEW PIPES CYLINDERS FRONT AND BACK. IT HAS AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP FITTED WHICH WORKS A TREAT. MECHANICAL ONE WAS BLANKED OFF LONG AGO SO IT WAS LEFT AS IS. FRONT SEATTS WERE RE UPHOLSTERED. CARPETS WERE MADE TO REPLACE ORIGINAL RUBBER ONES. A WELL SORTED USABLE CAR NOT CONCOURSE BUT EXTREMELY NICE AND IT MADE A BEAUTIFULL CAR FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM ON THE DAY AND DREW A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF ATTENTION AND ADMIRATION.
THE CAR STARTS EASILY EVERY TIME. BRAKES ARE AS THEY SHOULD BE FOR THE ERA. THE 4 SPEED COLLUM CHANGE WITH REVERSE IS SMOOTH AND IT IS QUITE NIPPY TO DRIVE. DUMP THE CLUTCH TOO FAST AND IT WILL SHUDDER BUT AS LONG AS YOU RESPECT IT IT IS AN EXCELLENT DRIVE FOR ITS YEAR.
I WILL UPLOAD MORE PICS OF THE UNDERSIDE ON MONDAY AS I CAN BORROW A HOIST. SILLS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ANY WELDING UNDER NEATH HAS BEEN DONR TO A GOOD STANDARD THEN STONECHIPPED AND HAMMERITED. THE STONE GUARDS ON EITHER SIDE ARE IN PLACE UNDER THE SILLS AND CHASSIS.
REQUIRING ATTENTION IS THE SPEEDO WHICH PACKED UP SATURDAY ON THE RETURN JOURNEY (70 MILES) THE HOOD ALTHOUGH NEW IS NOT THE GREATEST FIT. IT APPEARS TOO BIG BY THE SIDE WINDOWS WHICH IS GOOD I THINK BECAUSE IT CAN BE RETRIMMED TO GET RID OF THE EXCESS. UNLESS I AM NOT PUTTING IT UP RIGHT!. IT HAS A SMALL 1/4 INCH HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE REAR SEAT BACK. REAR SEATS ARE ORIGINAL AND FUNDS WERE LOW SO I LEFT IT AS IS. ORIGINAL RUBBER EDGING INSIDE THE DOOR ON THE STEP NEEDS REMAKING. I HAVE POP STUDDED THE CARPETS FOR NOW TO KEEP IT TIDY. SEE PICTURES.
I DONT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE BUT PLEASE STUDY THE PICTURES AS THEY FORM THE MOST OF THE DESCRIPTION. AND DO PLEASE COME AND LOOK (SN128LQ) 9 AM TO 5PM IT IS A STORAGE FACILITY.
THATS ABOUT IT. I SHALL BE SORY TO SEE IT GO AND WOULD HOPE THAT THIS RARE CAR MAKES GOOD MONEY. THERE IS NO BUY IT NOW AS I AM INFORMED THAT THERE ARE BUT A HANDFULL OF THIS PARTICULAR CAR LEFT. I DID GET IT MOT TESTED LAST MONTH EVEN THOUGH IT IS EXEMPT. AND IT IS TAXED FOR 11 MONTHS TOO.
I HAVE A CONTACT FOR DELIVERY OR EXPORT IF REQUIRED. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY COLLECTION.
FORGOT TO Say i sent off the log book for colour change 10 days ago. if it is not back by the time it is collected i will have to forward it on. it also has the wrong hub caps but i have the original but they have some small dents and i wanted it to look its best at the wedding. the purple rapier inserts matched the brides colour choices!
