1963 Classic Ford Consul Capri GT for sale
Current customer rating:
1963 Ford Consul Capri GT
Dry stored for the past 20 years. Still has it's original interior.
Other than the engine and box having been removed. which I still have. is pretty much complete.
The original sills and rear valance have not been messed with and there has been very little welding done to the car although it will need jacking points and lower front corners of the door pillars repaired - which are the places they normally go.
All the hard to find bits are still with the car ie the extra 3 clocks in the centre console. the ultra rare front grill and the remote servo which only the GT's had. The speedo reads 26. 94 and is the more rare 110 mph clock unique to the Gt unlike the the 116 e that only go up to 100 mph.
It also has twin 45 webbers on a pre-crossflow manifold and the 4-2-1 exhaust manifold. The previous owner took the engine out to replace it with a 1600 crossflow engine from a cortina gt but never got around to it. This is also with the car.
I'm pretty much certain I have 95% of what's needed to do the car - what panels are needed are still available through the Consul Capri owners club.
I've bought a complete repair panel for where the heater goes although the one on the car is repairable.
Car comes with original number plate TDY 608 which has been valued at £2500 and yes I do have the V 5 and it states 'Capri GT Coupe'
If you have any questions or you would like to view the car don't hesitate to ask.

To answer a few of the questions I've been asked regarding the car. it hasn't been on the road since 1989. it hasn't previously been restored ie the glass has never been removed. the loom and the dash have never been taken out. The engine bay has been hand painted silver at some point as it should be red. the sills have small drill holes along them to accept the chrome strips (which are with the car). Also with the car is the heater. heater repair panel. bumpers. chrome wheel rings (x 7) and hub caps (x 7). mirrors. chrome for above and below front bumper and the five stars. basically whatever came with the car when I bought it.
As stated the engine was already removed when I bought it. I also have another pre-crossflow engine which you are welcome to. both have 116 e-6015 written on them and the crossflow has 691 M written on it. all three engines turn freely. The fuel tank is still fitted. the rear valance is very good as are the metal headlight panels. The dash is blue with wood effect. the white paint will wash off
