Current customer rating:
1965 Pontiac GTO post car.
The post car is significant because they made less of these than the convertibles (11. 11) or hardtops (55. 22).
There were only 8. 19 coupes (or post cars) built as opposed to the 55. 22 non-post cars. or hardtops as GM called them.
Most of the post cars no longer exists due to the fact that the “B” pillar made the car much stiffer. and many were used for racing.
Selling car for a friend.
He had started restoring the vehicle but moved overseas before it was completed.
The vehicle has the original 389 cubic inch 335 horsepower engine with an original Carter 4 barrel carb.
It is equipped with a ST 300 automatic transmission.
Although it is a 2 speed transmission. it should not be confused with the much weaker 2 speed powerglide of the same era.
The front drums have been converted to new disc brakes for more dependable stopping power.
The entire interior is new and was sourced from Legendary Interiors. LTD.
It is offered in its original burgundy with a very rare color parchment interior.
There are some restoration areas that were not done before he left and some others that need to be addressed.
While the front brakes were replaced. the brake line was not reattached.
The engine started fine before it was shipped to me. but now does not start.
I think there is a short in the starter motor circuit.
There are some chips in the paint as you can see in the photos.
The exhaust looks like it may need to be replaced.
The odometer is missing. so although I think the car has less mileage. I am listing the car with 999. 99 miles.
Cars is sold as-is with no warranties.
