1970 MG MGB GT for sale
Current customer rating:
Extensive mechanical rebuild of a 6+ year-old amateur body restoration. Iconic split rear bumper. favored by collectors. No expense was spared in the 5-year mechanical restoration. Only 11. 00 miles on the overhauled engine. 9. 00 miles on the Datsun 280 Z 5-speed gearbox.
Suspension work includes new swivel axle assemblies. polyurethane suspension bushings. rear tube-type shocks. new front springs. Other replacements include clutch & hydraulics. differential spider gear thrust washers. rebuilt brakes. wiring harness. electronic ignition. rebuilt speedometer. rebuilt tach. Moss Minilite alloy wheels. recent battery.
The car drives smooth and straight at modern highway speeds.
The grill is a 1973 model.
The unique D-shaped steering wheel affords much improved leg room. but the original wheel is in good shape in case the buyer prefers it.
The car was driven 875 miles at speeds of 75-80 mph when moving from CO to TX last May - averaging 29 mpg! The Weber carb has been professionally re-jetted for low elevation. The paint still retains its gloss and looks great.
Michelin radials have good tread and are well-balanced.
The car has toured Arizona. Colorado. New Mexico and Texas in the last few years. and participated in several rallies and shows.
It was awarded 3 rd place recently at the All British Car Day at Boerne. TX.
While not perfect. this MGB-GT is ready to drive anywhere with confidence. and show with pride. Car can be seen in the Austin. TX area.
