Update I recently purchased a turbo wagon that I fell in love with. Time to part with this awesome Volvo that drives like a new one.
Last year I bought this vehicle and put about 2000$ into it:
-New Gas Tank
-New exhaust system from engine to muffler-New Windshield wiper fluid pump
-New Alternator
-New shocks FRONT and REAR
-New Sony Bluetooth Radio/CD and subwoofer wiring in trunk (keeping sub for new car)
-New front windshield
-New Front Rotors. Brakes. Brake lines (front)
-Front end alignment
-New Tires
-New rear taillights and front corner lights
-ALL power windows and Locks work perfectly (rare feature)
This car is my daily driver when not driving my Toyota Sequoia in the winter or Towing my boat. It has been very reliable and drives smooth at all times. Body is in amazing shape. all surface rust and minor imperfections for its age and reliability. There are two small rusty sections under the wheel well which can easily be sanded and primed ( minor body work). car was owned by a Volvo collector back In the day. comes with some old maintenance records
Here is what is wrong with the car:
-A/C compressor is frozen (old Freeon system) I have a new A/C compressor to throw in with the car
-Heated seats don't work ( could be easy fix. never messed with it)
-odometer stuck at 215 k I have no clue what the mileage is but is probably way closer to 215 k then 300 k.
- I lost the alternator tension adjustment screw. as of now I have to tighten the alternator bolt once every 2 months. I installed a 12 V gauge so you can see if the belt is loose and not pumping out 13. 7 volts. - Have no idea last time timing belt was done. Fortunately this is a well engineered NON interference engine. so if the timing belt ever snapped. you just replace. doesn't blow up the motor
UPDATE high beam and horn was fixed. ground wire was loose on steering column 10/30/16
I am selling due to buying a fun turbo model. and prefer AWD or Front so I can drive in the winter. I am open for other vintage/luxury type cars for trade. If I were to sell this car is would be worth 4 k to me based on its reliability and money I spent to get it there. this car was made to last 1 million miles. its a VOLVO.
