1967 Mercury Cougar for sale
Current customer rating:
1967 California Cougar in very nice condition!
She is super clean inside and out with the under body only having surface rust. She is super solid and straight!!
The original owner painted this black from its original yellow 20+ years ago and still looks good. The only place I could find an indication of the old yellow was when replacing the antenna under a screw head. The non original rebuilt 351 C engine and rebuilt C 4 transmission operates beautiful with some good power and then theirs just a perfect healthy rumble! Here some other recent up grades: New battery. starter. alternator. carburetor. gas line (tank to engine). gas tank reconditioned. MSD ignition. exhaust. carpet. front and rear seat covers. Borgeson power steering conversion. power master cylinder. Wilwood front disk brakes. headlamp relays for full power illumination. headlamp door motors were replaced from the
old pneumatic openers
with
electronic
actuators ( provided
by West Coast Classic Cougar). 15" tires and rims .
Headlamps. running lamps. licence lamps. dome lamps. sequential turn signal and brake lights all work as does the radio.
What
doesn't
work: Cluster temp and oil gauge not hooked up but additional add on gauges below sense temp. oil psi and volts. Clock does not work. The front tires when turning tight will hit the fenders when reversing because of the size of the tires.
She has some surface rust only underneath and a few paint chips on the lower from road rocks i suppose but NO peeling or bubbling paint on the body again she is solid. The steering wheel was restored by Best in Show Steering Wheels. So not like all those other cracked or after market ones that just don't look right. Suspension creeks as would any 40+ year old car with the original
suspension
but still goes down the road very nice.
The California license plates are the original plates to the car and will stay with the vehicle.
This Sassy Cat has lots of $$ in her. Take it the rest of the way or just enjoy because she is super fun to drive!! People this a very nice vehicle at a very fair price don't miss out! And please if your not in a position
to buy.
To a serious buyer i would take this car to any mechanic of your choice within a 30 mile radius of my location for your inspection. But of course you the buyer would prepay for this .
Thank you kindly. Barry
