Where shall I start. I never thought I would have to write this advert in my lifetime. however. circumstances change so here goes. I'll try and keep it brief;

3. 0 Essex engine rebuilt with new bearings. rings. gaskets etc.   She has unleaded heads and just been serviced with Ford spark plugs. oil filter. and quality engine oil.   Fuelled by a WEBER 40 DFAV carburettor and has full Stainless Steel Exhaust fitted.   She idles nice. has great oil pressure. sounds amazing and as they say pulls like a train.   I fitted Ford Racing air cleaner to finish of the engine bay. She also benefits from electronic ignition. so no fiddly points and condenser to worry about.  She+ shell still carries the Ford order sticker saying Special Vehicle Order – Black.

4 speed gearbox with a bronze pivot bush so she changes gear like a Winchester rifle.   I fitted black aluminium pressed number plates but I have the original dealer plates in the boot.   The glass is etched with the registration also and she has new Bosch wipers all round.

The power steering is smooth and precise.   The suspension has been improved by the fitment of later 2. 8 injection Capri parts.

This makes the car real fun to drive – the best of both worlds in my opinion.   She drives tight and smooth with no knocks. clunks or rattles.   Brakes are good too and she pulls up in a straight line.   I have fitted new cylinders to the rear last month.

Remote central locking is fitted with the alarm alongside a secret immobiliser and start button for added security.   Everything works – all the lights. wipers and heater on both speeds.   She has a new Heavy Duty battery and a new alternator and starts on the button every time.  

Inside is a red and white Carla cheque fishnet Recaro interior. which is in good condition – the driver seat is swapped with the passenger to even out any wear.   I fitted an excellent condition Ford motorsport RS steering wheel which makes so much difference. a nice chunky feel.   The interior mirror and sunroof handle is showing signs of age as the plastic is deteriorating. I have sourced replacements but they are grey and not beige. so I have left them original for now.  It has a nice sound  audio system which I will remove carefully or it can be negotiated separately – a Kenwood TV/DVD system with retro period Pioneer shelf speakers a period subwoofer and amp gives this car a real surreal feel.   This was fitted professionally by a local audio specialist.

All four tyres match and are very good; she is wearing recent Diamond Cut 4 spoke alloy wheels with new nuts.   She only comes out to play in the summer months and is laid up in the winter months to rest. recuperate and be lavished with layers of polish.

Recently MoT'd with no advisories.   A nice strong shell she has had minimal welding as expected but done to a high standard.

Paint is very good except for a few bubbles on her roof and one on the passenger wing. The sunroof is stiff so I don't open it.

I have a boxfile full of history – including receipts. original handbooks and old Mots and Tax discs.

I am a lifelong Ford enthusiast and I have loved and cherished this car like my children; she sleeps in a heated garage and only gets driven in the dry.   I bought her 4 years ago from a nice chap in Dartford who bought her from I believe the East Grinstead Capri Club Chairman's Wife. OLY 622W had been in the club/show circle prior to my ownership.

This is a hairy chested mans car – If you need to ask how many she does to the gallon  then please do not contact me.   Same goes if you need to ask your wife for her permission.

I bought this car to relive memories of my childhood with my father and I have done that with my boys – time to give someone else a chance.

Cash on collection. advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to remove from auction.   No Part Exchanges. No Nigerian Princes.   This car stays in the UK.   If you want a 2. 8i or Laser then please go and find one.   On the other hand if you are reading this advert then you know what you are looking at.   This is a straight. legendry 3. 0s. she get comments. smiles and waves absolutely everywhere she goes.   I will not let her go for peanuts I would rather sell a kidney.
