For sale this 1914 REO (Ransom Eli Olds) Mountain Wagon. This vintage car is truly a one of a kind. Extremely Rare! It seats 7 Passenger. for sale  This car has been stored in a dry heated building by the previous owner since the day he bought it at auction. We picked it up in Kentucky with a enclosed trailer and transported it back to Wisconsin where our trusty mechanic went to work on it. First we had to put a new carburetor on it. The starting mechanism turned the engine over but it seemed to be not quite fast enough to do the job. so we pull started it and it popped right over and actually we had it running. Please see video.  Once we got it going we discovered The radiator leaks water and needs to be repaired. Also the motor leaks water around Four old gasket on the sides of the piston heads.  The starter works but not fast enough to start the motor. It popped right over with a pull start every time. The generator needs to be rebuiltThe REO also needs new tires but it drove and handled very nicely with the old ones on it! It has all the original lanterns on it along with 2 original porcelain REO emblems There are several brass plates located all over the vehicle one with with the (seared number) . three with the wording (Mountain wagon) and others with maintenance information. We found a mechanic in New Your that belongs to the REO club of America. He has all the parts to rebuild the motor or replace all the pistons with new ones and I will be happy to pass his info along to you if you would like to speak to him about it. He gave me a price of ($900. 00) to re bore all the cylinders and but in new pistons and rings. After I sent him photos of the REO Mountain wagon he thought the car was made on a REO fire truck frame that he thought was from around 1916-1921 possably I decided to sell the REO at this point because I am not sure what direction i should go with it.  It looks like to restore the old motor in it would cost between $1. 00. 00 to at the high end $4. 00. 00 and those old motors were not that good or reliable they tell me. and the other option is to put a newer motor in it for around $1. 00. 00 and it would then be a smooth runner at a affordable price. In my heart I like to restore old cars but right know I think I will let the new owner decide what is best.
It would make a real show stopping parade car that I can say for certain. It is rust free with the back seats showing some age cracks. but the 2 front seats are perfect! I wouls say its in amazing condition for its age 100 years old + -Please see the video and call me if you like at 262-378-0215  Thanks so much for looking Dale
