Targa Florio Classics are pleased to offer for sale this very rare and fantastic little Autobianchi A112 Abarth 70hp. Painstakingly prepared in accordance with Appedix “K” for historic racing it comes complete with an FIA Historic Technical Passport (FIA Class T21) under homologation number 5606. It first rolled off the Abarth production line in 1975 and is an genuine Series 3 A112 Abarth 70hp model. Ideal for Historic Rallying. Sprints and Hill Climbs and is eligible for International events due to the FIA HTP.
EXTERIORThe body is finished in a rather fetching apple green with matte black bonnet. This Abarth was subject to a total rebuild and has participated in only 3 Hill Climbs since the build. The car was completely stripped down everything renewed and revised. The body/interior was repainted to a very high standard. Underneath looks just as good as the exterior and it really does look factory fresh. The floors are all original with no welding or repairs over the years. The car currently has the bumpers removed to save a little weight but both the original front and rear bumpers are included.
INTERIORThe interior has been stripped and the inside painted in the same apple green as the exterior. There is a heavy duty FIA Girola 6pt Roll cage fitted with door bars and an additional crossbar for extra rigidity. Fitted to this crossbar is a VDO rev counter. A period Fusina style Corduroy seat is fitted to an adjustable runner. Accompanying the seat is a Sparco 5point harness in date until 2016. There is another adjustable mounting point for a second seat if needed. The original dash is in place which typifies it's racing heritage with an oil pressure. oil temperature and volt meter arranged nicely together.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe eager 1050cc Abarth engine has been prepared to Group 1 specification and has 83hp at 8300rpm. The compression has been increased with a fully lightened and balanced engine with 67. 6mm forged pistons and a gas flowed cylinder head. Aspiration comes through a single Weber 32 DMTR downdraught Carburettor which is currently sporting a competition ITG foam filter. The original Abarth airbox and filter is also included. The exhaust is a full stainless system including the 4 branch manifold. Larger bore than standard with 2 silencers and the customary A112 Abarth twin exit. An oil cooler along with a catch tank and breather ensures thinks stay as they should under hard driving. There is an OMP strut brace fitted which makes a huge difference in the steering response. The Abarth gearbox has a 13/61 final drive with a ceramic paddle clutch and lightened flywheel
WHEELS. TYRES. SUSPENSION & BRAKESThe wheels are a set of original 4x13 Fiat steel wheels and are shod in road spec Dunlop SP10 145/70/13. They have been repainted gunmetal grey and the tyres have plenty of rubber remaining. Included in the spares package are a set of competition Michelins semi slicks for race/track. The brakes are the Series 3 servo assisted system with front discs and rear drums. The competition suspension set-up has been totally rebuilt with all new parts by Giraldi Tecnosport.
Professional inspections are welcome. Please E-mail if you require more information or photos. Viewing and test-drive are highly recommended.
