The 442 moniker represented 4-barrel V-8. 4-speed transmission. and dual exhaust. and also 400 CID. 4-barrel. dual exhaust. The 442 was initially offered on Oldsmobile's F 85 and Cutlass trim's. in 1968 the 442 became its own model. Available in 2-door sports coupe. holiday hardtop coupe. and convertible. Powering this 65' 442 is a 400 CID V 8 that was donated from a 1968 Oldsmobile 442. which has a received an electronic ignition. rebuilt carburetor. and an electronic fuel pump. all since 2012. The 4 speed manual transmission. with a newer hydraulic clutch. transfers the muscle to the Dana 60 rear end with Tru-Trac that houses 3. 73 gears. The suspension received a massive improvement including: front and rear springs. lower A arms. adjustable upper and lower control arms. and air lifts on the rear springs. A new steering box has also been recently replaced for improved steering and handling.

The red exterior paint looks fantastic. as does the black vinyl interior. New to the interior are the front seats. foam in the rear seat. and an AM/FM radio with a 6 disc CD changer. Raised white letter BF Goodrich Radials sit on the Oldsmobile SS 1 rally wheels. and provide a classic muscle car look.
