I brought my Charger in from the US in 2008 It needed quite a bit of mechanical work to get it ready for rego. It has full Left Hand Drive SA rego. Fortunately the body was solid and no rust repairs or paint were necessary The body and paint are not perfect but are easily presentable enough for normal driving and regular use. I rebuilt the 440 motor. rans and diff centre. The front and rear wheel bearings were replaced. All suspension bushes and ball joints were replaced. dler and pitman arms. The diff has an eaton tru trak limited slip centre fitted. The drivetrain. 27 auto and 8. 75 inch diff are the standard factory fitment. The factory 4 wheel drums with booster are overhauled all round including wheel cylinders. The headlights are operated via electric motors both of which were replaced. Two motors were procured and they both operate fine The radiator is alloy with thermo fans wired through a temp switch like a late model car (switch ln and off automatically)The carb is a 750 holley The exhaust was replaced with new twin system. The wheels and tyres are widened steel and new tyres. The entire floor was dynamatted and new carpet and underfelt fitted. The seats and hood lining were removed. stripped . efoamed and retrimmed in stunning red with white inserts. The rear of the 4 bucket seats has been trimmed to match. The boot was custom trimmed to house the amp and speakers. The steering wheel is leather bound to match. The factory dash lighting is electro-lumonescent and looks spectacular at night. The car has a significant amount of street appeal and gets a lot of attention whether it be at a show. parked or just cruising. These retro beasts are getting quite hard to find in any condition as they were the lowest production year of all Charger models in the US. Im aware of only 10 of these in Australia so its pretty rare. Fortunately. he parts situation is getting better as time goes on. Im advertising it in a number of places as i am selling it to help pay for my new Mustang when it arrives later this year.
