VW Split screen campervan Volkswagen bus for sale
Current customer rating:
Gutted to do this but we have a wedding to pay for. :(
Genuine German (not brazilian!) 1965 VW splitscreen campervan. Imported from Southern California in 2007 where it lived as a dog house. Once the van got here it was recommitioned with all new window rubbers. new brakes/ brake lines. cables. new clutch etc etc.
The engine was rebuilt by a professional engine builder and uprated to 1641 cc. It had a NOS stock exhaust fitted along with Petronix electronic ingition. We've done just under 5000 miles since then. not skipping a beat and flying through its annual MOT tests.
There is no rust on the van at all. as you can see in the photographs. The underside is painted in black stone chip underseal. The overall paint on the van isn't great and is an older job but we've never wanted to paint it as we love the "patina" and the fact we dont need to worry about a little scratch here or there. The wheels and bumpers are original german paint and we love the patina and history they show. The rear bumpers even have the remains of old US travel stickers.
The interior is basic. with a rusty lee "rock 'n roll" bed installed. The front seats were retrimmed to original spec. Its also still retains its middle seat if you wanted to use it as a classic people carrier. We personally remove it for space while camping. A new TMI headliner has also been installed.
We're also including the drive away awning in the sale.
If you have any questions. please contact myself or my Son.
