*NO RESERVE*

This beautiful Rover Mark III 3-Litre has been owned by the same family since new. It is original and a true survivor! This is your chance to own a unique piece of British history. When new. the P 5 Rover saloon was a vehicle for the elite. It was the vehicle of choice for members of British high-society including Queen Elizabeth. Margaret Thatcher. and James Callaghan. To this day. Queen Elizabeth still owns a P 5 Rover in classic British Green that was recently featured on the well-known television show. Top Gear.

This particular car was purchased new by a family from Seattle. Washington. After ordering the Rover. the family took European delivery of the vehicle where it was properly broken in on the streets of Europe. Following their tour of Europe. the vehicle was shipped back to the United States where it remained as part of their family until 2013. To this day. the children have fond memories of being shuttled back and forth to school in this stately sedan.

Please call David Martindale if you have any questions.

The exterior retains the majority of the original Gray paint. Regular use of the vehicle resulted in a few of the body panels getting a fresh coat of paint. The body is very straight and the panel gap and fitment is factory. Even now. some 47 years later. people notice and compliment the design of this vehicle. It was recently written up on Old Parked Cars. a blog featuring unique vehicles.

The chrome bumpers and stainless trim are shiny and crisp. There are a few minor dings and bumps. but the overall condition is excellent when you consider the history of the vehicle. The signature Rover grille is also in great shape and announces this vehicle and its important passengers. The Rover rolls on the original wheels that are wrapped in late-model tires. The shiny aluminum caps have no curb rash or imperfections.

All of the exterior glass is crystal clear and scratch free without any delamination. There are two minor chips in the front windshield that I have documented in the pictures. Look closely at the photos and you'll notice the original factory stamping on the glass. The trim around the windows is bright and shiny.

Open the doors and you will be impressed. The interior is in exceptional condition. Recently. the upholstery was redone in fine leather. It is as soft as a glove. In the door jams. the weather-stripping is supple and the door sills are bright and shiny. From the carpet to the headliner the interior is in excellent condition.

The interior is complimented with wood trim and accents. The window sills feature wood molding that hasn't been damaged from the water or sun. The dashboard is crack free and doesn't show any sun fading. All the gauges in the instrument cluster are in working order.

The carpeting is protected by the factory floor mats. The carpet is stain free and stands tall with only minor signs of wear and use. Inside the glove box you will find the original owner's manual. In addition to the owner's manual. the next owner will receive documentation of the vehicles service history. The same care that was given to the cosmetics of this vehicle was also extended to the mechanicals.

The Rover is powered by a smooth. inline 6-cylinder. The engine in this Rover runs strong. It is a testament to good design and diligent maintenance. Not only is it powerful. but fuel efficient considering the size and comfort of the vehicle. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly between all gears. It does not leak or drip oil. and the brakes work perfectly.

Here is a rare opportunity to own a piece of history. A unique Rover like this is hard to find in such well-kept condition. The temperate climate of the Pacific Northwest has prevented any rust and preserved the cosmetics. It is not a perfect vehicle. but a fine example of one that was used and cherished.
