Citroen 2cv 1987, White full MOT.

Welcome to the auction of my much loved 2 cv. I have owned the car for just over a year. and have in that time started to do a rolling overhaul on much of the car. The car has a full MOT(30/06/2014 exp)it is currently SORN'd. but is still insured. so could be taxed at the buyers expense. History wise. there was very little with the car when I acquired it. however I have kept a comprehensive record of everything I have done on it. and all parts replaced. this alone exceeds £1200. Condition wise. the car is still more shabby chic. than 2 pack concours! Yes it does have bits of rust on the panels. the worst of which is the drivers door. There are marks. knocks. minor dents etc commensurate with the age of the vehicle. and with it being used as Citroen intended. as a work horse. During my ownership the car has covered just under 1000 miles per month. and has been used as my daily driver. During this time it has only not got me to work once. owing to the rubbish oe coil packing up. thankfully leaving me on the drive at home. This has now been replaced with an ECAS heavy duty model. and no problems since. Underneath there are the very first signs of some surface corrosion appearing. obviously not structural. as its just passed its MOT. but worth mentioning. and treating in the not too distant future. The roof was on my list of things to replace. as it has seen better days. though has never leaked! That said. anyone who knows 2 cv's will be aware that they are not renowned for their water tightness. or luxury. however. that's not really why you'd buy one. Keeping with the interior. the front seats have had the frankly hopeless elastic bands replaced with substantial elasticated webbing straps to support both the driver and passenger. much better. if slightly on the pricey side! The foam has also been replaced with fire retardant memory foam. has made a huge difference.

I could write pages on this wonderful little car. but I'll stop now. before I talk myself into keeping it. The only reason it is up for sale is that I needed something more suited to motorway use. and able to tow with (not a 2 cv's forte!) Anyone seriously interested in the car is welcome to contact me with any questions. There's several manuals etc that will be included in the sale. along with a thermal hood liner. bonnet grille blind. and car cover. If you would like to view the car before the end of the auction then please ask. However. do not buy it. and then come round 'just looking' as per Ebay rules. if you click 'buy it'. then you've done just that. My description is as accurate as possible. on what is an old car. it will not be perfect. it does have marks blemishes etc. and will require on going maintenance to keep it running well. however at the point of writing this. I'd happily jump in it and head off across Europe in it.

Finally. tyre kickers. and general time wasters will be reported to Ebay. and the necessary action taken. I will not ship to outside of the UK. Buyer collects (yes it can be driven away once taxed). Happy bidding!
