Very Rare Vehicle 1938 SIMCA 8 vehicle similar class winner 1938 Le Mans for sale
Current customer rating:
I have for sale my part restored 1938 Simca 8. This vehicle has been under work for the last 8 years and impending retirement encourages me to move it on to someone with the dedication to finish it off. The vehicle has a French owner history back to the 1950's and has log book back to the period. it has the original letter from the factory to the first owner and original handbook. I have also amassed a quantity of original sales literature. In the day the Simca 8 was a fast car and a French business colleague once described as a " getaway car " a modified version was the class winner in the 1938 Le Mans ( and I have magnetic numbers to go on the car) It was dismantled given a complete respray. dark blue body and black fenders. A brand new wiring loom was manufactured and fitted with safety features such as front and rear lights and period type indicators. The car is still in progress of re-trimming but we have reached an impasse and have been searching for a rotor arm for. at least two years. So the car is as it is and you can see its progress on the pictures I have now found a way to transfer a large image from my FLICKR site
Additional things I keep thinking of : Brand new Stainless Steel Running boards were made. wheels were shot blasted and dry powder coated in the cream of the period and brand new X plys were fitted. All period lights are the fantastic MARCHAL. I have just added a couple of pictures of a 1937 price list for the vehicle. this is not a reprint. I may add pictures of other items I have but I do note from Flickr stats that the views of the vehicle itself have been visited ( 14/3) I also note from prices I have seen for available spares this car could easily fetch the price asked and more just in parts. (15/3) Every item that was originally chrome was rechromed. ncluding as you can see the fabulous hubcaps. . I even enamelled the original red background. Further information since last listing we are confident that we have sourced a new distributor in FRANCE. I await cost of this. details will be passed on to purchaser.
I HAVE REDUCED THE PRICE TO BELOW WHAT I PAID FOR THE VEHICLE NEVER MIND ALL THE RESTORATION COSTS SO FAR. IF I MAKE A SALE THE CAR CAN BE VIEWED BEFORE PAYMENT. I WOULD APPRECIATE CASH.
