1989 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI 8v , Low Mileage , Large Factory Optioned Spec

For sale is this mk2 Golf GTI from my private collection .

I have two other mk2 Gti. as well & im having to make the difficult choice in letting one go .

This particular car was registered on the 2/1/89 & supplied new by VW Dealer Stonehouse Motors Ltd Birmingham .

It has covered a low 103. 00 miles in its 24 years & had only 4 previous owners . two of which were Doctors who owned the car for a number of years . What i liked about this car is its an unusually high specification small bumper model in a totally unmessed with original condition as it left the factory . There are probably very low numbers of this combination left & certainly very few also in this stunning condition .

Finished in L97A Dimond silver with Full Black Leather Trim . A list of other spec includes Power Steering . 4x Electric Windows . Electric Mirrors . Central Locking . Sunroof . Splitfolding Rear Seat & Headlamp Washers . It also has a few period dealer extras such as a fisher cassette box . hella high level brake lamp & It also retains its original radio cassette player .

I have the full handbook pack & service book with 9 Vw stamps to 61. 00 miles in 1996 plus some other bills / invoices thereafter . There are also old mot. from 2010 back to 1997 .

I acquired this car as totally original but starting to show its age paintwise although bodily very solid . I have carefully stripped the car to a bare rolling shell & had it completely repainted to a very high standard in its original colour . This has been done by a trusted body shop who specialise in classic cars . The body is lazer straight with no rust & looks like its just rolled of the production line !! .

The Interior is in great shape with no splits in the leather or heavy wear. Even the drivers bolsters are still firm. The carpets including the boot one look like new & the headlining is perfect with no sagging.  There are also the original front mats.   

Everything works on this car as it should & it has none of the issues commonly associated with these models except if im being hyper critical the 2nd gear is notchy when cold. It also still retains a full original VW exhaust system in very good condition & 4 excellent Pirelli tyres on refurbed alloys .

Mechanicly the car has been fully serviced including cambelt replacement & recomissoned throughout using vw & oe spec parts . Before i acquired the car it had also had quite a few bits replaced incuding new boge shocks . springs & bump stops all round together with new discs & pads.

This car is going to appeal to a VW person such as myself who is looking for a high quality original car which they can enjoy straight away.  It has a clear Hpi report & has a new mot test . Ive just completed a trip of 200 miles in the car to the Early Edition in Northhampton & the car drove faultless.
