Originally automatic as has "Automatic Stickshift" script written badge on engine hood but now manual

A considerable amount spent on the car over time

Last two years the car has spent most of it's time in the garage under a cover.

It's a shame to be selling the car on but it really needs to go to someone who will get the use and fun from this head-turning classic car.

Although not show condition. it still looks very good and is a totally reliable. honest and beautiful classic car that needs to be used and enjoyed

Just had full service and pre-sale checkover. so nothing needs doing and is ready to go

The previoius owner renewed the headliner. carpets and trim panels and fitted a new clutch and replacement 1. 6 engine (10. 00 miles ago) and stainless steel tailpipes

Also been done:-
Re-upholstered driver's seat
Brake overhaul
General mechanical repairs/servicing every year
Replacement front bumper and over-riders front and back (second-hand original parts)
Replacement repro dash top
New battery (2011)
New starter motor (2012)

Bodywork:-
Wheels stripped and repainted in red (original VW colour)
Replacement engine hood from USA
New rear apron
Wing Sections
Inspection cover and a lot. but not all. of the rubber seals on car replaced
Rear arches and doors repaired
All bodywork front to back. checked. repaired as necessary and treated for rust
Full respray in original red Karmann Ghia colour

All bills to prove this plus all the bills from previous owner
Plus MOT certificates going back to 1998 which confirm the mileage

As you would expect in a 42 year old car. there has been some welding done underneath and it has been under-sealed.

The front valance had rusted underneath. this was cut away. treated and repainted in black (underneath only)

The only other "quirky" thing is that although the petrol gauge records the level of fuel correctly up to half full. it does not record more than half full. but at 42 years old. we have allowed this quirk!!

Also comes with Blaupunkt radio (unfitted).

The car has a working radio and original aerial. we just never got round to having the Blaupunkt radio fitted
