up for auction is a 1981 pontiac trans am with a 400 pontiac v 8 and a rare muncie 4 speed (out of 71-455 formula). This 4 speed is called a "dual ring input. " (heavy duty case-big 26-spline input-big spline output shaft). rare!!! runs and drives good-driven over 300 miles this week. fresh paint and body!! This was a clean texas car (why i bought). Can't say its a perfect show quality car but it looks fantastic(over $5. 00 invested in paint job). Look at the mirror straight reflections!! thumbs up everywhere it goes!! This car has great bones-hard restoration has been done-needs a shade tree mech to finish off minor details. Right now this is a good driver quality car. make no mistake. this is still a 35 year old car that could use some updates: suspension is original (creaks). gas gauge is pegged at full (was told sending unit or corrosion on lead). driver seat bottom ripped. door panels worn. and glass shows scratches. and the cooling system works (but in traffic it runs at 220 degrees). you get the picture.
