RENUALT 5 GT TURBO PROJECT 12 MONTHS MOT GREY for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.5) based on 407 votes
Renault 5 gt turbo. Near 12 months mot.
Can runs. drives.
Owned for around 2. 5 years. and has been garaged for around 2 years after the MOT ran out due to commitments and a house move.
Car needs alot of work on it so I would class it as a project. albeit a good base for one. Could benefit from a respray as there dents and scratches over the car(including a couple of deep ones on the passenger side and bonnet). rust wise is is starting to go slightly under the windscreen. and there is rust on the drivers door( A replacement door in good condition is included in the sale). along with the inside of the tailgate. but jacking points and sills seem solid. Some of the bodykit is ill fitting. and the sill trim on one side is broken.
This car is classed as spares or repairs as I have not tested it for year. Its hard start and sometimes needs some wet start to get it going some times. and on the way back from the mot station I noticed it isnt boosting to its full potential. Maybe around 2psi. as apposed to the 20 psi that it used to boost. Around a year ago I rebuild the carb and Im unsure if Ive put the vaccum hoses back in the correct places. Ive tryed to mess around with it the last few days but Ive lost patience.
The front seats show signs of wear. The front door cars are in ok condition. but the rears have the sagging material.
Suspension is pretty low. especially on the back.
The speedo has never worked.
Drivers door drops slightly when open. There is also a stress fracture on the pillar where the door latch locates.
The locating parts for the fog lights are broken on the bumper. The fogs are included and are in good condition.
Im sure there is other things I have missed.

A few positive things about the car. it does have some GT tuning features namely the lobster pot. the swirl pot. heater knobs. handbrake handle. and the bleed valve(this isnt connected and seems to be seized anyways. Also included in the sale is a Gt tuning coolant bottle. but I removed this as it became hard to remove the cap.
I was told when I purchased the car that a T25 turbo was fitted. along with a bigger cam. While there is no documentation of this I can assure you the car was very quick when boosting and revved to over 7k rpm.
There is also an uprated inter-cooler and an aftermarket radiator. along with a lager diameter exhaust.
Comes with 15 inch wheels with good tyres.

So all in all the car is classed as spares or repairs. and needs alot of work. Looks better in the pictures. The purchaser is welcome to drive the car away but I personally would rather get the car towed/recovered(shipley do very good recovery rates. as I had a car delivered from cambridge to bristol for £100.  Naturally I will need the balance upfront)  The price is firm as I know how much of a good investment these cars are. Its in a family members garage and Its welcome to stay there is needs be.
Viewings are welcomed at a time to suit my work commitments. Cash on collection.

Included in the sale is a drivers door. Gt tunning coolant bottle. and a pair or foglights.
