1960 LAND ROVER SERIES II SWB V 6 FUEL INJECTION
Built in November 1960. this home market Series II 88 was supplied in Bronze Green by Glovers of Harrogate. It is understood that it was subsequently exported returning to the UK in 1980. being first registered here in September of that year. At the time it was issued with a "W" plate although it now sports a proper age-related registration.
At some point in its recent life. the vehicle has been fitted with a Ford 2. 8 V 6 fuel injection engine mated to an automatic gearbox. From paperwork and bills. it looks as if this conversion was undertaken around 8-10 years ago. The Land Rover has lived in the Salisbury/Swindon area for all of this period.
It comes with sundry paperwork and bills from 2008 onwards. lots of old MOT Certificates for the same period and a current MOT to 11 th August 2017 with just 1 advisory note (worn front tyre). It also benefits from a Heritage Certificate and current V 5 C.
It starts on the button. sounds purposeful (!) and as one would expect. is quite a handful with masses of torque.
The photos tell the story. It is a little scruffy but is also incredibly solid in all the important areas.
