This is one of the finest Countach replicas I have ever seen which was built by Bob Lerose www. rodsbybob. com/Countach. html this was my childhood dream car and I didn't want to spend +$300K for a real Countach so I started looking for replicas. I didn't want a fiero kit. and found a few builders who did ground up cars that came out amazing. This is a true to scale replica that I am told has the exact same dimensions as a true countach. The body is super sturdy and doesn't feel like fiberglass when you knock on it. No flexing panels. this is the extreme high end of a fiberglass body. It is built on a full custom tube chassis with mid mounted V8. with all around disc brakes. Porsche transmission (not sure what model the transmission came out of. but it is Porsche). Car is really fast. and has handles pretty well. Car has power windows although they only open a little over an inch. but operates similar to the original. Headlights flip up. blinkers work. Car has AC and blows cold. Weld forged wheels. with the original spec Pirelli tires that came on the original countach. I bought the car and it needed some work. The shifting was really sloppy. so I had a 997 porsche shift linkage and gate installed. The original build installed a really simple removable firewall to access the belts behind the seats. but wasn't air tight so a lot of fumes came into the cab. I had my shop custom fabricate a full aluminum firewall that seals off the engine bay to the cab. and no more engine / exhaust smell. Car sounds and looks awesome. I cant tell you how many looks and attention the car gets. Lots of people will take cell phone video on the freeway and lots of thumbs up. Its LOUD and has a really sweet race car sound when heavy on and off the gas. I was told the engine puts out 400HP. (Chevy small block crate that was mildly built I was told) Not sure the exact specs. Rob Lerose might be able to answer any additional questions regarding the build. In short the car was over $100K to build. and I spend another $8k in the past 2 months getting it dialed in perfectly. Car is titled actually as a “1989 Lamborghini” not a kit car in the state of Pennsylvania but I was told this is a 1986 body. There was no donor car – this is a full tube frame race car that is street legal with a fully enclosed cockpit that is close to the look of the original. Paint in my opinion looks amazing. Its 7 years old but has always been garaged so it looks really good. Some small touch ups here and there. but overall really nice paint. It drives really nice. starts immediately every time. All gauges were replaced recently. so the previous mileage was showing right around 7500 miles. and have put about 100 since the gauges have been replaced. The car has under 8. 00 miles since build. Im located in San Clemente. CA and can show it anytime if you are in the area. Call me if you have any questions 619-997-4012 Mike.
