BMW 2002 RARE AUTOMATIC SALOON 1974 IN MALAGA RED

 

The car has recently been fitted with a new radiator and brand new Weber Carburetor. and has also had new brakes. and a recent service (oil. filters. plugs. points. distributor cap. rotor arm. HT leads. condenser) etc.

The new carburetor has been set up properly and the timing is spot on. ensuring that the car starts and runs perfectly. It has been fitted with hardened valve seats and therefore runs on unleaded petrol with no additives required.

 Driving the car is an absolute pleasure. The engine is quick and responsive with no miss-fires. rattles or bangs. and the original 3 speed automatic gearbox is effortless and smooth throughout the acceleration range and has no problem keeping up with modern traffic and is in fact very comfortable at Motorway speeds.

The body work of the car is in very good order and has just had the underside completely under-sealed to ensure longevity.   The paintwork is good. all the one colour and takes a nice polish. but some small areas would benefit from a flat and polish to make perfect. and the car does turn heads everywhere it goes.


 

As with most classic cars of this age there is room for improvement. but only small items such as some missing trim etc. nothing that would need done immediately. and lets face it most classic car owners take pride in having some things to improve or tinker with during ownership.

The ivory vinyl and brown cloth seats could do with being re-trimmed (or just leave the seat covers on).  

 

The car has an M. O. T. until with no advisories until May 1975 and is completely reliable so could be used as an every day driver or as a bit of summer fun. Just add petrol. mileage is not warranted.
