Up for sale. this very nice 1970 Saab 95 two door sports wagon. This is a rust free. always garaged car owned by a Swedish car enthusiast. The very low 89. 55 miles on the clock are believed to be original but cannot guaranteed as such.
As some Saab fans know. a recent auction of a 1969 Saab wagon with higher miles and not much nicer than this one sold for $32. 00. These wagons are ultra-rare but I've set a low and reasonable reserve.
The restoration was done two owners ago in the 1990's and has had very little driving/wear since. The restoration included a respray of the original Saab white. along with new black leather seating surfaces. door panels and carpet. I'm not sure if the headliner was also done at this time but it is excellent. All glass is also excellent. however there is a vertical crack in the front windshield (see photo) that hasn't grown or expanded in 5 years. The front seats are slightly loose and need to be re-bolted to the floor. Original front seat belts are in the car. All gauges work except for the clock. An extra special feature. a very expensive and super rare Nardi steering wheel with Saab horn button is installed.
The car was tuned up less than 300 miles ago by my mechanic and the V4 engine starts up and runs as it should. The 4-speed on the column transmission shifts correctly and drives well with the occasional usual noises you always hear in an old Saab of this vintage. The exhaust and muffler was replaced less than 1. 00 miles ago. The previous owner also removed the engine and cleaned the engine bay. replacing all engine seals before reinstalling. I have no leaks anywhere worth mentioning. The free-wheel is locked out but it was never really needed once Saab switched from the old 2-strokes to the reliable V4. A previous owner removed the hood release pull from inside the car and a small release latch in the front grill was added (see photo- it's actually more convenient).
Tires look like they have 80% tread or more. Included are original Saab logo hub caps in nice shape with chrome trim rings.
There is minor bubbling under the paint in a couple of small areas along one door bottom edge and along one side roof panel- both areas are isolated. contained and nothing has come through the paint. There are no real scratches or dings to speak of- look at the photos's. the paint shines! There was a minor dent in the passenger front fender that was repaired by the previous owner and that panel was repainted. Chrome is good with some aging in places. All of these photos were taken on 8/6/2016.
Please note: the roof rack and front license plate from Norway do not convey with the car.
All in all this is a very nice driver quality car that will get lots of attention at your next local car show. I can also almost guarantee you will never see another one coming the other way. Questions? Email me through Ebay and I will respond within 24 hours. usually sooner. Also offered for sale locally and on various classic car websites so the auction may be ended at any time unless the reserve has been met.
I'm located near Charlottesville. Va. . 2 hours southwest of Washington D. C. and an hour west of Richmond. I would have no hesitancy driving this car hundreds of miles back home but since the car is. after all. 46 years old. I would recommend a trailer or having it shipped if any farther. I'm happy to assist loading with your shipper. Thanks for looking.
